June baby have you been checked for high blood pressure yet? How is your water intake? Are you limiting your sodium - these all play a part - some of us swell but I haven't swollen so much that I can't put shoes on....better get to your doctor asap...you don't want to have any kind of blood pressure issue and not know it -

I don't mean to contradict anyone and of course anything that helps helps right? But I was told by my doctor and the perinatologist that I see at my regular u/s's that limiting salt has no effect on edema caused by pregnancy. Maybe it is in everyone's opinion or maybe every different doctor's practice but my feet swell to the point I can't bend my toes and when I put pressure on them they turn white like as if I were pressing all the blood out of them. My ankles have turned to cankles and the only shoes I can wear comfortably are my one size too big flip flops. I don't have high BP 120/80 last BP check so no PE but I asked both docs about sodium intake. They said obviously limit fast food and canned foods that have a ton EXTRA sodium, but regular sodium intake (or sodium to taste as they both put it) cannot make or break the edema. I am not sure if thats good or bad. On one hand it would be nice if it would help because then it would help, right? On the other hand I love salt on my food so its nice I don't have to limit the salt and make my food real bland.
