I had an internal this morning, and was dilated to 3 cm and 60% effaced. I have been having contractins since, that hurt and last a long time. They are far apart though, like 20 minutes.....any chance the exam is going to trigger labor???? prob not hu? Wishful thinking maybe :)...almost 37 weeks

You never really can tell! i've heard of exams sending women into labor! I guess just watch your contractions and their times and see if they get any closer together... It can happen and i have known women it has happened to.. so it is not impossible!

Most definitely an exam can trigger labor but it can also trigger false contractions an spotting. If you want to know if its real you can take a warm bath/shower to see if they stop or not. Also drink lots of water to make sure you are hydrated and keep timing your contractions. GL and let us know what is going on.
