So, it's 3 am and I am up writing sub plans because I think I have the makings of strep throat. I am going to call the doctor in the morning, but I am p__sed that I made it this long without getting sick and 6 days before my leave here it comes. I hope that you are all doing well. I have been having the bh contractions as well, but they seem to be more than I have read about...they really catch me off guard! Not much longer to go I suppose. There is one final ultrasound next Monday to check for measurement and fluids so we'll see.
DMJ~ I hope you are hanging in there!
That goes out to the rest of you as well...it is really hard to fathom that this is all getting so close!

Hey all, glad to hear everyone is good, except poor DMJD!!! Hang in there honey! It'll be over soon!
I almost went to labor and delivery tonight to have an aversion- the baby is in the breech position and they wanted to turn her in order to get her in position for v____al delivery. (I'm 37 weeks- Due Dec. 12).
I cancelled it. There was no medical reason to do it other than hope she stays head down the rest for the pregnancy. And, during the aversion process, the worst case scenario would be an emergency c section, if she was distressed- and I felt that to be an unnecessary risk. And, I really really need at least 10 more days to be better prepared! If I were to have gone tonight, things would have just been a mess. I'm not ready! I should be, but I'm not. Her room isn't ready, our last shower is tomorrow. Her furniture isn't together yet... have to wash all her clothing and blankets, take the dogs to the vet. (And then there is the issue of my bathroom being demo'ed right now... sigh.)

Jess, I hope everything went ok for you and the baby and you are both recovering nicely! I can't wait to hear how everything went. dmj how are you doing? Has that baby of yours made the big appearance yet? Ebaby, that is exciting. Sometime next week then huh? micsmms, I would not have done the aversion either. THey offered that to me with my first child and we chose to wait and see if she turned on her own and if she didn't we would have the c-section.....so we wound up with the c-section (she was Frank Breech and they typically don't like to try to deliver that particular positioned baby naturally) This baby was Frank Breech at 35 weeks, head down at 36 weeks and today at 37 weeks she is now transverse. She won't stay put. Her delivery is scheduled for 2 weeks from tomorrow. I am getting very anxious! Tara, I hope the appt went well and things are starting to happen for you! 3 more weeks till your little one comes huh? WE are all within days/weeks of each other!

Hi girls-
HERES THE BIRTH STORY ( is it the first one of the dec. mommies?)
Well, I went in at 10am on 11/21 for my scheduled c-section. This was the first csection, I had a bad labor and delivery with my first daughter so we opted for the section this time. They took me back first and put me in a gown and did all the things I hate, blood work, IV, etc. I was scheduled to start surgery at 12 but they were running late and it didnt start until 1pm. They took me in first and did my spinal block. I was so scared it hurt a bit but was over fast. Then my legs got all tingly and warm and soon I was numb from the chest down. The surgery was pretty fast. There were so many people in the operating room. Everyone was talking and DH said they were playing the radio but i didnt hear it. DH was up by my head but kept peeking over the sheet, he actually wanted to see the surgery (gross). I felt naseaus several times during the surgery and they had to keep giving me things in my IV to help. When they pulled Brooke out i heard her cry and I got very happy. The worst part was not being able to hold her for several hours after the surgery b/c they had in me in a "recovery room" for 2 hours and her in the nursery ,bathing her etc. She was 7 pounds 6 ounces and 20 inches, born at 1:29pm. She is beautfil and a good baby. My recovery was not as bad as I thought it would be. I was in the hospital for 3 days and tried to relax. They do get you up and walking about 8 hours after the surgery. As long as i keep up on taking my pain meds like i need to I am fine and pretty active here at home. I have to be I have a 2 year old.
Good luck ladies!!! I hope all is well. I will see you on the infant care forum.

Hey girls! Hope everyone is going well as they near "D" day, haha. Sorry I haven't been around in forever but I had my baby boy on October 23 at 33 weeks. It has been quite a rough road and he spent most of his time in the Newborn ICU. On Oct 22nd, my blood pressure just went through the roof and the doc put me on bed rest. The following day I went in for a scan and my pressure was worse. I went by ambulance to the hospital that did level 2 newborn ICU (28 weeks and up). My little sweetie was born via section a few hours later. He stayed in the ICU until Nov 9th and then was discharged. It was hell getting to the hospital everyday since it was 45 minutes away and I couldn't drive for 2 weeks. Anyway, he came home 11/9 and 36 hours later was rushed to the emergency room as his temp dropped to 91 degrees, we almost lost him. He was just discharged too early. He came home last wednesday and has gained weight well and is holding his temp. He was born 4 lbs 6 ounces and is now 6 lbs 3 ounces. It has been quite a month for us. Of course, my 2 year old dd came down with a cold that we all got, yes the baby too. My poor little guy. Anyway, I will be trying to catch up on your posts and truly hope everyone is well. ttyl- Colleen

Oh Colleen!!! I was afraid something like that happened, as I knew your first was premature. That is so scary, you are stronger than me, I dont know if could have handled it- I might be in the looney bin. I am so happy he is okay and growing. I had my dd a week ago. My dd has a cold too and all the family we saw yesterday for Thanksgiving were sick. I am terrified the baby will get sick, I was crying about it last night (im an emotional mess). Well, try to rest and take care of those two little ones. Congrats and I will pray for smooth sailing for your family from here on out.

I have some good news at last. Sorry I have not been on lately but well it is tough as you all know. Well on the 25th at 6:30 in the morning I went into labor. First a bloody show, then contractions started at 7 and then my water broke at 8. By the time I made it to the hospital it was 9 in the morning. Well, because I have been there three times before, they did not believe me much. After testing me, they found out that I was telling the truth. They monitored me to see what my contractions were doing and decided to help the contractions along. I had already dilated a bit and thinned out too. With the help, the contractions were more painful and after another pelvic exam the doctor ordered the epodoral(sp) for me at 3cm dilated. From there the only thing that went right was that there was no pain. The contractions were not doing what the doctors wanted so they put a cathater up in me to see how fierce they were. Sad to say, my contractions were mild and I was dilating very slowly. It was a very long day. At 4:30 in the morning the doctor was satisfied they told me to push. I did and well he would go no further than were he started. She decided that although I could push for hours a c-section would be better. They prepared me and I delivered my baby boy by c-section on Nov. 26th at 5:11 in the morning. It was wonderful to hear him cry for the first time, though I wish that I would have been able to get a better look at him before anyone else did. At least I got to hold his little hand while DJ held him. Even though he is three weeks early because I was at 37 weeks and 1 day when I went in, he is a healthy normal baby. He weighed 7lbs. and 3oz. and is 19 and 1/4in. His name...Kyle Leonard Warner. He is beautiful and well I have to take everything slow because of the c-section so I did not get to do everything that I wanted to and well I was just released today. I am doing fine but still in pain which is normal and will be a little while before I fully heal and Kyle is healthy and wonderful.
Congrats to those who have met their baby already and everyone else hang in there your baby will be here soon. I hope everyone is ok
