Hi all, my due date is 12/12. I had my US today to check growth and measurements... and they said that one of her kidneys is larger than the other. We were pretty scared when we heard that. They said that there is a chance from her position in the womb, that the measurement is showing as inaccurate. They want to do a follow up at 34 weeks. I asked what it is caused by and they said it's genetic- it is in our family history. Neither of us are aware of any kidney problems on either side of the family. They said that it could be cycsts making it enlarged- however the US didn't show any cysts. Research that i've done online says that it may be a blockage which will likely clear itself up before, or shortly after birth. They were very non-communicative at the US today- different doctors and US reader than we normally see. It was hard to ask alot of questions when we were there, as it was just a shock to hear something like that.

Well, Im really sorry to hear that. I hope it turns out to be nothing. I could have been just the position or something, ultrasound's are not always that accurate. Or if it is a blockage, at least the info you found says that its something that clears up. Try to relax, I know it really hard to do that, but you dont want to be put undue stress on yourself and the baby.

micsmms- can you speak to your ob about the ultrasound? They usually send it over to your doc (if like me, you had to have it done at a hospital) and then you can feel comfortable asking questions. I would want to know what they mean by genetic too since neither of you are aware of any issues. Luckily, it's most likely due to the positioning or the blockage which sounds as if it will not cause any long term problems. I'm so sorry you and dh have to go through this worrying! I know how it feels. How long until you are 34 weeks? Tara- that's alot of fun having some friends pg at the same time and going through that lovely newborn-hell stage. You all can lean on each other. We used to say there was something in the water here too. I work at a Health Department and we only have about 18 employess and someone is usually pregnant, for awhile it was just one after the other. Girls I am freakin exhuasted today! My lo came down with a cold yesterday (Damn library story hour!) and she was up and miserable all night. I felt so bad for her and I am barely able to keep my eyes open. I had a morning 2 1/2 hour long meeting and I literally was struggling to keep my eyes open. Of course, now I feel like I am getting sick too. I thought I would get through this pregnancy without catching anything, oh well. Colleen

Colleen-That sucks you are not feeling well. I know what you mean about being exhausted. Its hard when your lo is sick and keeps you up all night. I slept horrible last night too. My left knee was killing me and my hips were just aching. Also I was getting menstrual like cramps, which was weird. Pllus dh came home from a college football game and was drunk, so he tried to be all loving and put his arms around me and cuddle with me. It was nice but I was so uncomfortable, and i just wanted room in the bed!! Once he fell asleep I tried to kick and push him over on his side of the bed but he wouldnt move. LOL! So I had a pretty bad night too! :o)

Hi girls! I just got back from an ultrasound and it was really rea__suring. The little guy is 3lbs 11 oz. That is much less than I thought it would be seeing as how the doctor was like he is going to be big! Well, I just wanted to check in and wish you all a good weekend. I am going to take a little nap so I can go hang out with friends tonight and not be in bed by nine!

micsmm3 - I am sorry to hear you had a bad doctor's appointment. I am sure everything is ok - Maybe like they said that it's just a bad picture. I am sure your little girl will be fine especially if you don't have a family history. Jess and Colleen I hope you girls get a better night sleep this weekend. I love that it is the weekend. I wish I could have a four day one every week - I could work a 3 day week!!!! I am beat too. I did get my blood test results back, they said that I tested negative for whatever it is that causes the rash, however it has since worsened - I was told to just try to do the best I can with the over the counter stuff so that if I do have to go on medicine, eventually it won't be for long. I am surviving - I really like being pregnant - so I hope this doesn't get any worse. I do plan on doing this again!!! We want four total -this is our 2nd. (we'll see how things go though. Anyway, I hope you all have a wonderful weekend without any husbands poking and prodding to keep you awake and babies that are quiet!!!! Talk to you soon.

I am going on 30 weeks come this Mon. I am so excited to be on the home streck but not liking the symptoms of the first trimester coming back. lol

Hi mommies!!!! Has anyone had a shower yet? I had a small one thown by people from work today. It was fun. They all pooled their money together and got me a Coach diaper bag. Im really excited about that!! Other than than I just got some diapers and cute clothes. I didnt need much as I have most of my daughter stuff still.

tara - im also having a boy! Thats a pretty funny story about you and your friends at work, not to mention ironic! jess - i havent had my shower yet, but i do know that its in two weeks (the 19th) i didnt want to be surprised! But my two best friends already went together and bought me a coach diaper bag also, i love it! : )

I have not had my shower yet. At least not till the 18th. I know nothing about what is going on. My boyfriend's mom is arranging everything for me. The only thing I know is the food and where it is located. I cannot wait for it though because a few of my friends are coming that I have not seen for ages.

My shower is on the 19th of this month and I am hearing rumor that they are doing one at my work in early November. I am excited to see everyone too! It should be a nice time. I get to help with the favors today. I guess sometimes I am too hands on. I am used to throwing the showers, not getting one!

I will talk further with my OB about it. And try to remain positive, of course. I have a shower the 26th, the day before my bday, and another on November 9th. I saw the invitations for one, and they are so pretty. Wow, a coach diaper bag sounds pretty wonderful!!! I don't have one of those on my registry! Maybe I'll add it! ; ) Hope your weekend was good, m.

Im sure all of your showers will be wonderful! I love my coach diaper bag (how funny you got one to ebaby!). Except.... I told my 2 siter in laws about it-they are throwing me a small family shower in a few weeks...and they already bought me a coach diaper bag too! Now I feel really bad!! Its not like I was going around asking for one though, I guess everyone just knows I love Coach purses. Oh well, I told them to take it back but they said they are going to give it to me anyway. What am I going to do with 2 ?!?! I guess I will take one back, if I get the receipt for one of them.

Hahaha jess, your so patient! When my dh is drunk be repulses me (unless I've been able to have a few) They just think they are so witty and s_xy and right now if I can't get a buzz, he better not even think about it! That coach diaper bag sounds great. I don't think I'll be having a shower since I had a big one at work for my dd here only 2 years ago. I don't think my family will be planning one either, I thought showers were only for the first baby? dmjdjw- welcome, do you know if you're having a boy or girl? Tara- Can you take Benadryl for the itchiness? I know it's safe for pregnancy, I'm glad the test was negative. Well dh and I and my lo were sick all weekend :( so I am really looking forward to this coming weekend which is 3 days. Still just tired and foggy-headed. I hope everyone enjoys their shower! They can be alot of fun but also a little tedious too, I hate all the corny games that people try to do. That was my only condition on my shower last time, NO RIDICULOUS, CORNY, GIRLY GAMES! I agree about the stupid shower games! I really didnt want another shower, I just had one 2 yrs ago too. But everyone insisted. I didnt register or anything. I was mainly hoping for diapers and wipes and things like that. I will definitley use them!!!!!

Hi ladies, I have been MIA again. Only another week and a couple days left till I have my sanity back!! mcsmms I hope that the enlarged kydney is nothing more than the ultrasound not being very clear. colleen, I am exhausted too. I can't seem to sleep good and now when I roll over I kind of have to push myself up on with my hands to clear my belly and that means I actually have to wake up to roll over...so less sleep for me. I am sorry your lo is sick. There is nothing worse than a sick child that you can't do anything to make them more comfortable. Hang in there. Hopefully it won't last long and you won't get it! I got a ton of stuff at my first shower with my daughter and then my parents and my work both threw me another with my son, even though I really didn't want one. Fortunately I just got a bunch of diapers, wipes, lotions, and powder. We didn't have to buy diapers till Rory was 6 mths old and just barely had to buy lotion and body wash for the kids and he is 19 mths old now and we had used what we got for both him and Tabby! I really really really hope no one throws me another shower this time around. We have everything we need and then some and if my family wants to get us diapers and wipes and such to help out that is great, but I don't want a big to do this time around. So I got my date for my c-section in the mail on Saturday! December 10th is the date. 6 days before my due date. I was really hoping for Friday, but instead they scheduled for Wed. Oh well. Ugh I am wiped out gotta hit the hay. I need to try to drag myself out of bed at 5 in the morning. YUCK!
