Dialation With Cervical Issues

Hi all- I was just wondering if anyone can realte and possibly give some insight...I know that every woman is different, but I was thinking there may have been someone in my situation. I am almost 35 weeks pg. At my 34 wk appt, I was 2cm dialated (she said she could definitely get 2 fingers in) and the baby's head was engaged, but only at about -3. I was 50% effaced, but I have been on complete bedrest since week 21 for an incompitent cervix. (so the effacement has been that way for over 3 months now!) I have an almost 2 yr old son, and had NO problems with him and actually went overdue without dialating til the end, so this dialating thing has got me wondering. Has anyone been through this? Should I be expecting baby soon or is it just as possible to carry to my due date on Aug 6th? I know that there is no magic crystal ball, but any other experiences would be very appreciated if shared.

At my 36 week appt with my last baby I was dilated to a 3 (can't remember the effacement) and I thought for sure I was gonna go any day. I ended up having her on her due date. There really is NO way to tell, so just enjoy the rest of your pregnancy!

WOW- you walk around for 4 weeks at 3 or more!!! OK so I feel a little better! The doc made a big deal of it (probably b/c of being on bedrest for so long?---she even sent me to L&D for monitoring!) and got me all freaked out that my baby may be here like tomorrow! I am not ready yet! Hopefully I will be like you and hang in there at least a little bit longer!
