the three hour test kinda sucks lol. you have to fast for like 12 hours before hand they take your blood the ifrst time then drink the icky sugar drink then they take blood eveny hour for three hours. it sucks cause you are hungry and bored, they usually dont let you leave once you drink the stuff so sitting in the waiting rom for 4ish hours stinks. just bring a book or something and you'll be fine :)

oh and bring food to eat when its over cause you will be hungry and if you are like me you'll feel sick from that sugar drink.. my stomach doesnt do well when I consume sugar on an empty stomach. I wish I would have brought food to eat afterward.

I got such a bad headache from not being able to eat and then having to consume all that sugar. I thought it was torture! How do they expect a pregnant woman to not get a headache and feel like c___p after starving her for so long:))))

I tried to get a pa__sing score on the 1 hour one twice...and then had to do the 3 hour test. Like the other girls said....you have to fast and then drink a twice as sugary drink. I did pa__s the 3 hour. There is info online that recommends "carb loading" in the 3 days preceeding. My dr did not have me do this, but the reason being, I guess is that the body gets more efficient at handling the larger amounts of sugar, thus doing better with the glucose drink. Just FYI

I'm going for the 1 hour today. I had coffee and breakfast early this morning which is supposed to be fine for the one hour. I hope it comes out okay. I don't know much about the 3 hour though :(

how far along do they do the sugar test? I am 26 weeks & my dr. hasn't mentioned it yet.

Hey thanks everyone ...i go Friday for the test i went to the dr 2day for check up...waited 45 mins for a 3 min visit...in and out of there...i have been drinking alot of water since i failed the test hope that helps me pa__s.....Dr said sometimes you fail the 1 hr and pa__s the 3 hr hope that me....Good luck eveyone and thanks for your help...SAndy

Hi Mrs Sandy - like the other ladies said its pretty boring and you get hungry haha. I made my test for early in the morning so i could fast while asleep but I tell you by the end of that 3 hours you are READY TO EAT! I took cheese and biscuits and I kid you not while she was taking the needle out of my arm after the last test I was stuffing the cheese and bickies in! haha. Its all pretty painless - I think the worst part is the boredom and sick feeling from not eating. My 3 hour test results were clear which I think a lot of peoples are so try not to stress. I hope you results come back fine! If you can take a friend witih you - thats what I did - much more fun! :)

JNFR....they typically do the test at about 28 weeks. They won't even administer the test until at least week 26. I had GD with my first child and am currently PG with twins, so they just gave me the 1 hour at 26 weeks, which I pa__sed!

I took the 3hr test Friday and still don't know if i pa__s it are not....i hate the waiting..but no news is good news i guess....i have and u/s on Thursday and i cant wait to see my lil one...i will keep you posted....
