i actually asked my midwife when they start checking you here and they dont!! they dont check for dialation or anything like that until your in labour!! thats sucks im not even going to know if my body is doing anything lol

I had quite a scare yesterday. I was sitting at a red light when a truck rear ended me! The seatbelt tightened up around my lower abdomen so I went to the hospital. I had 2 strong contractions and then consistant cramping for about 20 minutes. Baby had dropped and engaged. I had a non-stress test that lasted over an hour. Baby was active and even had the hiccups! Then he disengaged himself and started playing in his womb again! I really wonder what he does in there to amuse himself for so long! He was non-stop active for over an hour! He once kicked so hard he knocked the monitor out of place!!! Everything is fine with both of us- what a relief!
Doctor checked for preclampsia since I am showing some symptoms, but even after a car accident my blood pressure was still low! So they just think everything is pregnancy related. My cervix is still closed, but it is soft! I also had a group B strep test yesterday.
I can't believe we are all having such big babies! My doc says mine will be about 8 1/2 pounds if I go full term. I had always thought I would go early, but after yesterday, I really think he likes it in there and has no plans on coming out anytime soon! I would love it if my doctor would induce me early. I am just so anxious to meet him, but at the same time, I feel like he is so safe and protected staying inside me.

breezieb- thanks! I myself cant even believe it when i get excited for no progress lol. But yes, these races are beyond important. I get checked again Monday and we're supposed to leave for Florida Wednesday.
kmoselle- Glad everything is ok! I think im the only one with a baby measuring small. My doc is guessing maybe 7 lbs at full term. Its easy to get excited and want the babies here now but truth is they are much better off staying in the womb until 40 weeks. No sign of my mucous pluy yet, yay! Bloody show usually doesnt happen until right before labor. Thats why i was induced with my daughter. I had major bloody show and contractions but wasnt progressing.

kmosele glad everyhting is ok! what a scare! wow 8 1/2 lbs full term thats what they think she is going to weigh at my next scan ( tuesday, i,ll be 37+3) isnt it funny how they engage there head and then seem to get cold feet and take it out again lol!
i lost a bit of something snot like at about 32 weeks but thats it!
i dont think i posted on here that i thought my waters broke and went to hospital, they used a spectulam afetr having me lie down for an hour to see if there was apoole of water, which there wasnt, she swabbed me as she said i had a lot of white discharge...........i then went home and bled for 2 days and as im refus negative had to have an anti D and then got a phone call saying i tested positive for group B which im guessing they tested for in my swab..............but everything seems fine justa little confused about the group B as they dont even check routinly here for it......i think i understand it though
jeesh its getting harder to type as my fingers are so swollen lol

OMG, am I the only one that ever has issues logging in to this site? It drives me NUTS. I'll try to log in over and over and over and it keeps just showing up like I'm a guest and haven't logged in. So today is the first time in more than a week I was able to successfully log in, so sorry I've missed so much.
Question for everyone: Does anyone have an induction dates or c-section dates scheduled yet or are we all still waiting (im)patiently? lol
I had my 37 week check up yesterday and the nurse p__sed me off but I won't go into that right now. Baby is still head down as far as anyone can tell, he's not engaged and I'm only a fingertip dialated. I feel like I'm going to literally be pregnant forever. I about cried leaving the place because I'm now soooo uncomfortable and I'm not getting any rest (not even talking about sleep, just rest in general) and it's catching up with me and has me so freaking emotional. I'm crying at the drop of a hat these days. I can't wait to get him out. I'm 37w3d today and my next dr visit is at 38w exactly. I don't think the dr will check my cervix again until 39 weeks though.

Oh and I'm still working, until next friday... uggg.. I wish I wouldn't have told my boss I would work so long. I wish tomorrow was my last day.

Nothing scheduled for me. I have been having dreams that the docs want to induce me early, but I think thise are just wishful thinking. The closer I get to my due date, the longer I think I will remain preggers! I'm looking forward to not being swollen and uncomfortable anymore! I'm also looking forward to getting rid of this head /sinus cold and getting some sleep (yeah, right!). I hope I get a baby that sleeps through the night!!! How my sister got so lucky with twins who slept through the night starting the day she brought them home, I don;t know!! My coworkers and mom still think I will go early. DH is hoping I'm late- I think he's getting nervous at the thought of a little baby in the house!!! That and the sleepless nights. I am so tired. I have literally dozed off twice while trying to type this! I need a nap so bad.

ok so i,ve been having horrible dreams, i had one last night that (this is really horrible) heidi died in my womb....i literally woke up in hysterics! and what was worse was that in my dream it happened while i was dreaming if that makes sence and when i woke up i didnt feel her and thought my dream had come true, which it did! so when i woke up i really thought something was going to happen! but she has been evry active but its so worrying to have dream like that! it makes me wonder if it means something?

I think everyone needs to just relax. I know its easy to get excited about your baby being here but why would you want them to come early just because you're eager to meet then or you're uncomfortable? Thats not having your childs best interest at heart. Everyday your baby spends in your womb makes them a little stronger, a little more prepared for birth. A pregnancy is supposed to be 40 weeks for a reason, its not just to torture us. Just a few days can make a huge difference!

Flybear - i hope you start to feel better!! Cant you tell you work that doc advised you go on rest. I just hate to see you put more on your self than you have to just to please someone else. you sound like you really need this for your health.
I am scheduled for c-section on feb 16th but I am trying to get the doc to take him one week sonner. She said she will keep doing the tests to watch me and if at that point its needed then she will. My actual due date is Feb 21st so atleast I know I am going in a week early at the latest.
Angel - I cant beleave the ont check you there, that sucks! I am closed but soft.
Newbaby - that is good you get another check before u leave. I will keep my fingers crossed for you!

Would you believe I had to go to the hospital again this morning- and it was not pregnancy related! I woke up at 5am barely able to breathe- with what I thought was a sore throat and my sinuses just getting worse. However, when I went to drink some water, it would not go down. I looked in the mirror and that thing that hangs in the back of your throat (uvula?) was swollen! It was absolutely HUGE and it was blocking the back of my throat- making it hard to breathe and impossible to swallow. So DH took me to the ER. They tested me for strep- negative and said it's probably a virus and then they sent me home. WHAT?!?! What if it gets bigger and I can't get air through either??? No gargling with salt water? No instructions? No benadryl- anything? This thing is hanging there so big I can't talk and when I move my head I can feel it hitting the sides of my throat! I hate being sick. I feel like doggy-doo-doo.

KMO, I'm sorry. I had LOTS of issues with my Tonsils, Adnoids and Uvula most of my life. My dr was stupid on top of it. I literally was in the dr's office like every month or two with some sort of an infection and when I questioned him about having my tonsils removed he said I didn't have enough issues with them to have that done. I switched Dr's and the first thing my new Dr said when I saw him the first time was WOW, those are some NASTY tonsils. lol My adnoids never desenegrated like they are supposed to at puberty and had actually kept growing to where I literally couldn't breath through my nose at all, then I had kissing tonsils that eventually got so bad that they couldn't clear up the infection causing halitosis and my uvula was swollen and hanging on my tongue and hurt really bad. My new Dr sent me to an Otolaryngologist who said I had the worst case he had ever seen in his career, and scheduled a surgery practically for the next day. I no longer have tonsils, adnoids or a uvula! Thank God! Anyways, sorry, didn't mean to tell a long story, just wanted to say that I know how sucky throat issues can be and I really hope it clears up soon for you.
17 more days for me ladies. It still feels like an eternity. lol I want him to cook as long as he can. I mean, I'm hoping to go to at least 39 weeks but I'm so wore out. My husband was exhausted this morning and could hardly pull himself out of bed because I was tossing and turning so much last night he couldn't sleep, but of course we're both at work today. I'm honestly more excited about quitting work than anything at this point. I feel like if I could just make it to next Friday so that I can stay home and relax the rest of my pregnancy that it won't even bother me so bad if he's a lil late.
I was reading in the January mommy thread the other day, it seems all of them have had their babies now so looks like it's us up next! WOW, I didn't think we'd ever make it to this point. I have a feeling starting in the next week or so we'll start having babies! YAY!

It is unbelievable that we are weeks away! Tomorrow i will have 3 weeks left- that's 21 days. We are right there. So close yet so far away! Like you flybear- I was tossing and turning last night, too. Everytime i woke up I just imagined little Hunter in his crib. I recently moved it from the bedroom sitting room to right next to my side of the bed! So even though I woke up because of the throat pain- I was so thrilled at the thought of him soon laying in the crib, being the reason I'm up in the middle of the night!

So how was everyone's weekend? Everyone still preggers??? I had a nice, long, relaxing weekend. Didn't do much. I took several 1-hour naps over the weekend, 2 on Saturday and 3 yesterday! I rented lots of movies, cleaned a little bit and made a huge fruit salad. It was a well deserved break, I think!
