This whole place is quiet- not just us february mommies! I am exhausted today! I got spoiled with all my cat-naps over the weekend! I am dying for one today! I keep nodding off at my desk- not good since the big boss is walking around!! My doctor had to go out of town for an emergency. So they switched my appointment from today until Thursday. I'm a little disappointed since I wanted to talk to the doc about all the water weight in my feet- so big I have to wear my husbands big shoes!!!, the head congestion, dry mouth and throat swelling and tingling in my hand. I know they are all part of the pregnancy process, I guess I just want to be rea__sured. The swelling is really starting to worry me. I can no longer bend my ankles or grip anything small with my hands! Ugh! Lately I have been thinking of trying a little castor oil. I have been against it, but I am wondering- even if it does or does not bring on labor for me- if it may help a bit with the water weight, too? Hmmm...

i,ve heard caster oil can help bring on labour but also gives you diahrea, so im staying away from that lol!

Had my 37 week appt. today. Im 1-2 cm dialated. He didnt say if im thinned or what station the baby is at. He did say he can feel her head through the membranes so she has dropped. He said to go ahead with our travel plans. He thinks ill be just fine. Just said as little walking as possible but to get up and walk a little every once in a while to prevent blood clots in my legs. Leaving Wednesday. Bloos pressure still high and swelling is bad but he doesnt think its full on preeclampsia. Im measuring 40 cm which of course is 40 weeks. . He measured me and said "thats alot."

I had a HARD weekend!!! The gum of where the tooth was that I had pulled last month was hurting so bad and my whole face on the side also. I was in so much pain I almost did not go to my baby shower on Sat. I went ahead and went (it was great!) then went to the ER after and turns out the dentist left shards of tooth in there and my gum couldnt close so my nerve was exposed and causing all the pain. I went for another u/s today and non stress test. All is good. I am still soft and closed. I am glad you ladies got to get some rest over the weekend!! Newbaby - I am glad you still get to go. Well I am pretty wiped out I am going to lay down and try to get some rest.

i had my scan today, heidi weighs 6lb 11oz which is just fine, a little large but still in the right weight range..................they are going to induce me at 39 weeks as i have a severe rash all over which has been getting worse over the weeks, my stomic is red raw from it and because they cant work it out they will induce me as they think its pregnancy related, will get my date at my next hospital appoinment i will be 39 weeks 3 days so she will pretty much arrive on time

Breezie, I'm sorry about your tooth! Angel, congrats on having a date to look forward to now! How far along are you now? I had my 38 week check up yesterday. Sunday I was having some pain and I kept telling my husband I thought it was the baby dropping. So when I went in to see my Dr yesterday I was telling the nurse that I had a suspicion that the baby had dropped. The Dr had told me at my 37 week checkup that he wouldn't probably check me again until I was 39 weeks, but he measured me and then told me to get undressed and he was going to check my cervix. So he checked and he said the baby had indeed dropped and that I hadn't really dialated much more but I was soft and all. So I asked him if I made it to my 40 week appointment if we could talk about a possible induction and he said he would actually probably talk to me about one if I make it to my next appointment on the 4th. So I'm hoping that I go naturally before then but if I don't at least there is some light at the end of the tunnel. I didn't realize how much more uncomfortable I would be when the baby dropped. OMG, it's only been two days and I'm so sore and tired. Last night I think he dropped some more too cause I was cramping for quite a while and then I got up at one point to pee and while I was on the toilet I heard and felt a lil pop and it really felt like him settling down a lil more. At first I thought my water broke or something but there was no fluid so I think it must have been him. I have 13 days till my due date. It still seems like an eternity. Thankfully after today I only have 3 days of work left though.

Omg, finally some relief! The baby dropping has done wonders for my seperated pelvis. Because there is something between the two pieces now it doesnt hurt near as bad. I can actually turn over in bed without yelling in pain! I still have considerable pain but its definately a huge improvement. They're still not sure if im going to need pelvic surgery after the baby. They're not sure how much damage has been done with it being like this for so long. I have to have xrays before i leave the hospital after delivery.

I'm so jealous that you guys will be induced on time or early! My doc doesn't say anything about it except it will happen when it happens. I really don't want to induce anyway, but I don't want to go over 40 weeks either. Like you, flybear, i think my baby dropped last night. I felt some weird cramping down there. It's a cross of being slightly painful, a little crampy and a bit of pressure. I'm not sure if those are contractions or the baby moving his head around down there. But I can still feel his bum up in my ribs. Some days he drops and the top of my abdomen goes flat, other days his rear end sticks right out of the top of my belly. So... i discovered Sprite and 7-Up soda! I have never been a big soda drinker, but I have been craving it for some time now. Sprite is caffeine free, so I tried it and loved it! The bubbles feel so good on my sore throat! Well, I decided against the castor oil. i read some old posts and while it seems to work for some, it doesn't work for others. Why put myself in agony if I don't even know if it will help. Plus, iread that some people would have diarreah right on the table during delivery. Gross. I'd be embarra__sed enough pa__sing a regular poop! So I thought about walking to help him engage and come sooner. Anyone else walking? I can't seem to get very far- I have to pee 2 minutes after I leave my house! I have the maternity belt, but I think that would defeat the purpose of walking to get him to engage, huh? I honestly thought I would have had him by now. I am hoping for Feb 4th- which is 40 weeks from my LMP and 38 weeks from conception (I know the exact date!) - but U/S dates me at 10 days off. Doesn't matter to me, as long as he does not decide to arrive during the Superbowl!!! And believe me- I will be eating a LOT of Hot, Spicy chicken wings during the game to help him along! That's my replacement for the castor oil trick!!!

Good luck newbaby- hope everything heals well. Glad to hear you are getting some relief finally! Kind of ironic that what ails me and causes me pain, relieves you! Pregnancy is insane!

Oh i still have the pain everyone else has and then some. I dont think people quite understand my circ_mstances. My pelvis severely dislocated at 20 weeks when i fell from our trailor. They said it may have happened as a result of pregnancy aIone because my pelvis wasnt in very great shape from carrying my daughter. I would have needed surgery right away if i hadnt been pregnant. The farther along i got the more absolutely excurciating the pain got. They said there was a good chance it would heal itsself over time but it never seemed to. Probably because of the constantly increasing weight and pressure. Now we have to wait and see if it is healing or if the lessened pain is a result of the babys head being down in the pelvis.

*oops meant trailer. (car hauler)

Well, last night I was so very comfortable in bed- more comfortable than I have been in the last 4 months!!! I wonder if that means anything?

kmoselle - January 29

LOL about the stretch marks! There is no preventing them or making them go away- believe me I have tried! I got them on my inner thighs- from crotch to knees! They are wide and dark purple. Terrible! I also have a few on my lower belly, but those are pretty pale still. I wonder if I will ever be able to wear shorts or a skirt again! I guess they go to skin color after a few months, but they are still so unattractive! I have been using both 100% shea b___ter and also some cocoa b___ter. Nothing seems to be working though. Only time I suppose.

My DH is an avid fisherman. Recently he has joined a few clubs to start tournament fishing. Well, this has been his dream for years and I am fully supporting him, however, it turns out that his very first tournament (that could bring us in several thousand dollars if he wins) is 3 hours away and he would have no cell phone signal on the lake. Ugh! It is a week before I am due and I am so worried I am going to go into labor and deliver the baby by myself. He would stay home if i asked him, but then I would feel so guilty if i didn't go into labor. Then there is the fact that there is a good chance he could win and bring in some much needed money. And I know most first timers go late, not early, so why am I really worried? It seems like a no-win situation for me and I just wanted to vent! These hormones are just driving me crazy. I'm usually a laid back person. Thanks for listening! :-)
