Good morning everybody. Another day in pregnant land. You women talking about losing weight and going back to having s_x... sigh. Lol. I haven't been weighed in months at the midwife so I have no idea where I'm at. I'll get weighed when I go into labor just to know how much I start at so I'll know just how much weight I get to lose. Brandy how fun to get to surprise DH like that with looking great! Congrats! My poor DH is getting tired. We've been going to bed too late the last couple nights but it doesn't matter, I'm having s_x with him. I call him my prostaglandin donor. He looks at me like "Oh please no, not again." I don't know why I bother, it's not doing me any good. But then I remind him it will be a while after she's born before we can do it again so he better get it while he can. He's just lucky we never tried to get pregnant so he didn't have to be used then too. Hehe. Anyway nothing new here, just taking it easy trying to get better from this cold and still get a few things done to the house each day.

My Labor & Delivery Story
Well for starters we had been patiently waiting for our son to arrive and had also had 2 turn arounds from the hospital due to false labor/possible amnio leaking. My due date was the 15th but no sign of arrival so at my last doctors appointment we schedules a ultrasound, nst and regular appointment for the 21st and my inducement was scheduled for the 24th. We obviously did not make it to either appointment.
It started at about 1am on the 20th while I was sleeping I thought I was dreaming that I was in labor as I had been doing the past week. I finally woke up about 2am with intense pressure in my v____al area. Let’s just say I thought my son was going to come out within the next ½ hour because the only time I had ever experienced that pressure was when I needed to push my child into the world. With every contraction I had to go to the bathroom and I was worried it might be false and I had to make a bowel movement. Nope it was real. I also thought maybe I had a bladder infection which I thought would be odd since I drink lots of water but when I would urinate, I would wipe and the urine was a light red. I called my OB office to find out what they wanted me to do and tell them what I thought. I spoke to the on call doctor who said I was bleeding like that because I was dilating and she said I needed to rush up to the hospital to be checked. She thought I was definitely in labor and with my history did not want me to wait a minute longer. My husband and I packed up and rushed to the hospital. We got there about 3am and a nurse checked me. She said I was 75% effaced and dilated to 3cm which I told my husband was probably the case since out luck had not been so great with my past visits with progressing. I forgot to mention that when we arrived to the hospital I couldn’t even walk to the ER so we could go to the labor and delivery. A nurse and my husband wheeled out a wheelchair for me. I couldn’t walk because my contractions were too intense and it stopped me as I also had pressure. Well after the nurse checked me she pulled her hand out and my water started to leak as I told my husband that would happen too. They wheeled me to a labor & delivery room and set me up on monitors, IV and the necessary bracelets, etc. I decided not to get the epidural because when the nurse checked me again I had already dilated to 4-5cm within the 45 minutes of getting things going. I also would have had to wait for the blood work that they took to come back so they could make sure everything was fine. I would not been able to sit through getting the epidural or nor would I have time due to my past history of fast labor. As the hours past I progressed fast and the pressure was getting more intense. They did give me staydall to ease the pain but it helped for maybe the next 3-4 contractions and it was back to the same pain level, UGH. I tried to get up to go to the bathroom because my bladder was full and that can cause the contractions to be more intense then they really are. I stood up slowly as I could hardly get out of bed and stand anyways but I started to get a contraction as they were just 1-2 minutes apart, I didn’t make it to the bathroom and the contraction caused me to urinate on the floor. Yes I know I was soooo embarra__sed and apologetic. The nurse understood and said it was just fine because it happens all the time. I laid back down and the pressure got more intense to the point she called the doctor thinking we might be close. That was at 5:30am and when the doctor made it in she said I was completely effaced and dilated to 7cm. At that point I was breathing really heavy and my body was tingling. I was shocked and said as I as breathing really hard “What, I am only at 7cm, how is that, they are soooo intense and the pressure is horrible “The doctor and nurse said it should be in the next ½ hour to 1 hour but told me to breath through the next 3 contractions and we will recheck my cervix. WOW those 3 contractions were the longest contractions ever and the first 2 were on top of each other so I had to really breathe through 4 contractions not 3. Well I got through them and tried to go to the bathroom again. I made it this time but I had 3 more contractions while I was in there so it made getting back to my bed more difficult. I almost pasted out during the 3rd contraction so my husband and the nurse practically carried me to my bed. When I got back the pressure really was almost unbearable. The nurse checked me and said I had just a lip left (almost 10cm but more 9cm). She asked me to go ahead and push with my next contraction to help ease some of the pressure and she wanted to see if the baby would stretch that and come through possibly. OH YEA she did it now, my son came flying down and she asked my husband to press the nurse b___ton. She hollered at the nurse to get the doctor in there RIGHT NOW then she had my husband push the b___ton again and she hollered “ I NEED HANDS NOW “. I at that point was in so much shock because of the pressure and the pain that all I could do is push and they told me that was fine. Nurses came flying in and here came my lil guy Kannon shooting out as I pushed for the time record of 3 minutes. I could not stop and my body was doing it anyways. I was so scared and was worried he would get stuck or they would have to cut me and I was going to feeling it all, YIKES. Well the little guy made his entrance as they tried to put the back of the bed down since it was too late to try to drop the bottom half of the bed. The back of the bed couldn’t go fast enough so they were holding my leg up to keep my legs spread apart so he could come all the way out. The nurse delivered my son and the doctor came in just in time for the very end when he was already almost out. Crazyness is what it was. All I got to say is when he came out it was all over but man was I in so much shock couldn’t even hold my baby after they got him all cleaned up. They did put him on my chest right away after I delivered him and was cleaning him off at that point. I just remember as soon as he came out the look on my husbands face and as his eyes were welled up with tears he leaned over and kissed me. Of course I was in so much shock I had that stupid look on my face like what the hell just happened to me and my husband didn’t get the same kiss back, duh it was chaos so I was glad to see my husband enjoy the moments of his son being born and what labor really is like for the ladies. He got some nice broken blood vessels on his thumb since I was squeezing the heck out of it. My poor baby was bruised up but I did get to kiss him right away and talk to him about how it had been a long wait and I was so happy he decided to join us. I told him I love him and just looked at all his special little features. At that point they had to take him and do their thing with him. It was all worth it. I did get worried for a second because when my dear son was on my chest he went to sleep and was so sound to sleep I got asked the nurse to check and make sure he was breathing. He was breathing and going to finish his nap on his mommy’s chest. Now my labor and delivery is over and I am definitely enjoying my new addition as well as the rest of my family. I do want to say that I experienced a different kind of labor than my first 2 children who I had nothing with too. My first child I had the front cramping labor, my second was back and front labor and this child I had mild cramping but intense pressure the whole time on my v____a. Every labor is different so if you have kind with one child then it doesn’t mean you will experience the same with each child. Sorry my story is so dang long I just wanted to make sure you all got every detail.

Well it is veryyyy quiet. Am I the only miserable pregnant one left? No, I'm not really miserable. I'm just ready to be done... anytime now Claire. No real difference yet but at my appointment yesterday my midwife said she doesn't think I'll make it to my next appointment Tuesday. She thinks I'll go sometime this weekend so we'll see how good her midwife instincts are. :) Hope everyone is doing alright. Kristin sounds like Kayden is doing great!

Hey, girls! 'Sorry I haven't been on in a while. Breast feeding issues have been taking up a lot of my time. Brandy, I'm having the opposite problem from you - not enough milk and a baby who's a lazy sucker. The doc says Jack's a little too laid back when it comes to eating. Wow, before too long, everyone will have had their babies, and our March thread will be defunct. That makes me a little sad. I thought I would miss being pregnant, but I don't. Now I have something so much better than a baby in my belly: a baby in my arms. I've been in the process of finishing my birth story for several weeks now. I'll email it to Sarah for all y'all if I ever get it done. Hang in there, you still preggo ladies. Enjoy your last few days sans baby! -April

Sarah, Clair is coming soon now don't you worry! We save the best birth for last, and i just can't wait to hear your March end story. You have been wonderfully patient this month. High fives! My sis in law had her baby this morning and it's a girl. She was 8 days over due and had an induction because the weight was over 8lbs. The baby weighed 8lbs and 7oz. Hannah had her weight check and she gained 2 lbs!! So 8lbs and 6oz. So, now our family has 8 granddaughters and 2 grandsons. Girls everywhere! Sorry for being mia a bit, it's been very hectic with baby, toddler, pumping and lots of outings. My incision is still sore and today I'm getting it checked today. It's hard to take it easy, I just can't chill when there's so much going on here, Shewy. Hannah slept though the night twice now and she seems to want a feeding at 3am mostly. Her little cheeks are beginning to get some chub as she reaches 1 month. Sarah, get as much rest, babies seem to get going during cat naps. I wish you the best these next few days. Erica
