Yeah you're right, that was us, now we're waiting for birth stories! Don't feel so bad, I"m not dilated either apparently. Midwife checked today, says I'm very soft and ripe, but not dilated yet. I guess BH don't help that out! However I"m thinking I"ve had a few real contractions today, because my back will kill and my lower tummy will hurt, I get all hot and feel nauseous. Definitely different than just the tightening of the BH. Midwife says dilation doesn't mean much anyway, that can change overnight, so we shouldn't be too disappointed.
I cannot wait to hear from Miss P!!!

hi everyone! I've had braxton hicks all day- I think I've got enough "practice" in already, wish I could kick my body into gear & get the real deal started! Anyway, my Daddy stopped over for a visit today & aksed what I need that I didn't already get & I told him a b___st pump, b/c unfortunatly after my 6 weeks is up after delivery I have to go back to work. So, he gave me the $ for it. Is anyone else b.f'ing & have their pump already, or any suggestions on good ones? I am really leaning towards the medela duel electric pump that goes for $279. I have read reviews of ladies getting other brands that just don't work properly & they wind up buying the medela anyway. Just want to know what your opinions are & any experience you have had w/ pumps. I was fortunate enough to stay home after I had my son, so this is my first go around w/ pumping. Hope you are all doing good- somebody go into labor please! I'm itching to read a birth story, they are the most amazing things to read about!

Jen - I plan on nursing as well. You may want to check into this before buying that pump (and yes I agree, the Medela is top notch and probably one of the best). Through the hospital where I'm giving birth, I have the option of renting a Medela pump for $50. I can keep it as long as I need it. I also have a battery operated hand-held pump I can bring with me in the dipaer bag if needed. I rented the Medela when I had my daughter and plan to do the same with this little guy. Something you may want to look into... they are super expensive to purchase! I'm only taking 8 weeks off (Still can't believe they consider maternity leave a short term disability). I'm taking 2 weeks vaca and 6 weeks STD. Wish I could do longer but FMLA pays me $0 for my time home! I need a birth story - someone needs to go into labor soon!!! Can't wait to hear MissP's story : ) I've got my Doc appt later this morning - I'll let you ladies know how it went. Probably NO progress - again! blah! Get it out of me.

Oh girls,I am so sorry for you. I would hate to go back to work that soon. Of course I'm in Canada and we get a year off. Well plus DH and I made a deal that when he got his firefighting job I would stay at home, which works awesome for us. I wish you all the best of luck though. And yes someone needs to post a birth story!!! I"m sure it won't be me next!

Yes dilating means nothing!! Unfortunately!! My sis was 4cm and 80% effaced for 4 weeks :( but it is still fun to have progress!!! But Aryanna and Mari...you will be the two that actually go next just because of the no dilation!! Although- Mari...you may go into and be at a 4 ! ha!!!! MEDELA all the way!!! I will absolutely nurse, my Medela Pump and Go advance was my best friend during those 8 mo with my son!! I plan to nurse 12 mo this time around (if possible- I lost my milk at 8 mo with my son) and the Medela is the way to go!!! Although I wouldn't spend the extra money on the advance..that just causes let down and really...you will let down on your own!

Well Ladies we are all almost there. I am feeling the same as most of you. The heartburn has been killer, so bad that the acid just creeps right up into my throat, have to pee too every half hour or so. I go to the doc tomorrow, already at 4cm and 50% thinned, hopefully it will be more tomorrow. I am so done. I can barely walk my hips hurt so bad, and that stabbing pain down there that makes you gasp for air. ouch!! I am so glad that you are all doing so well, and those of you that aren't dilated be glad, with all three of these boys I have been dilated, tyler I was at a 4 for over 8 weeks, jacob I was at a 3 for at least 6 weeks, and this one I have been 3 and 4 cm for what 3 weeks now. It sucks knowing your so close and just waiting for that last cm and little bit of thinning left. About the pumps I would def. go with the medela, if you buy the other ones at wal mart or target you will be dissapointed.
Babywish- she will be home soon, after tyler was born he had fluid in his lungs and was in the hosp for 4 days, but I got to stay in my room , while he was in NICU. (insurance covered it) so the day I would of had to leave, (no more insurance coverage days) he got to come home too. But he was still on oxygen for 3 weeks after he got home. My worst fear is hemmoraging again. I just keep praying it doesn't happen this time. good luck ladies, were so close

got another ?- ok so I thought I'd go w/ the duel medela pump, but do you think the single works just as well? If I could save $100 & get close to the same results that would be great. The single goes for about $160. I know it won't be as fast (obviously, w/ pumping 1 b___st at a time) but besides that are they pretty much the same?

Jen, this is going to be another personal perference....I HATED HATED HATED pumping both b___bs at once...I didn't do it the entire time...my sister however thought I was a nutjob because it cuts time in half. She was like...I don't understand why you wouldn't take advance of pumping both b___bs at once...I just felt awkward with it, like I wasnt' getting it all, and I have no idea just liked doing one at a time better! So even though I have the dual pump...I don't use it very often at all...Get a battery pack though...that is my #1 piece of advice

I rented the dual Medela pump and it just reminded me of a cow being milked, LOL! It does speed up the process, but it can be uncomfy. I've had a LONG CRAZY work day! I'm so sick of work lately! Anyhoo... I had my appointment this morning and boy am I p__sed! I'm 37 almost 38 weeks and NO PROGRESS! I'm not dilated at all. Just a little thinning - which I think is c___p! I've been feeling so funky lately I thought for sure something exciting was going on down there with all the pressure and the sharp pains! I ate spicy chinese food at lunch and have been running up and down my stairs doing laundry most of the evening! One more thing to try with the hubby tonight ; ) Liz - you think I'm going first... I'm telling you, this kid isn't coming till Christmas! Destiny - I hear you girl, I'm in the same boat. That acid is horrible and it comes up on me! I get it mainly at night and I literally have to get up and pee a million times a night! About maternity leave - Aryanna, you are extremely lucky! That's amazing you get 1 year off! That's it, I'm moving to Canada!

I know we are so lucky. THey changed it right before I had my daughter, about 7 years ago and I was so happy. And when I had my son I worked full time before I had him and it sure was nice for the government to pay me to stay home for a year. Now I"m a stay at home mom so no pay since I haven't been working beforehand, but it sure is nice for the people that need it. If the women don't want the full amount of time, the men can take half or whatever they want as well. DH actually took three months of mine last time. I was shocked I wasn't progressing either because I have so many shooting pains and BH and yes the reflux is horrible. It'll be the neverendiing pregnancy.

I don't know why but I just feel like Mari and Aryanna are going to be soon! ha! Well I guess we are all going to be soon! Gosh I am really nauseous today. I remember this happened the week before I had Jacob- just really icky- I actually threw up at 38 weeks with him. I also am starting the loose BM's already...TMI sorry. On a side note....MISSP Hurry up girl!!! Talk to us!

Oh Beka that is too bad. Have you spent much time on your hands and knees? Apparently that can help alot to get them to go the right way. How many weeks are you now? EJ I've been feeling nauseous on and off too. I'm on a cleaning spree today, so tonight would be a great time!

So...I need a little advice...I have had about 4 ultrasounds between the 17th and 32nd week of the pregnancy and they all say I should be due on the 10th of October...however, my DH and I only tried one time, and I am positive of the the conception date and my midwives are going by 10/15/08...what do you think I shold be going by? If I go by the 10th...then I have 15 days to go...if I o by the midwives, I have 20 days...I never though 5 days would be a huge difference...but now I am ready....so so ready....I can't imagine if I go late and have to do this for 5 more weeks...I am so tired of throwing up and being nauseated...do you think the u/s is a little more scientific and it could be more accurate???
