I am home with a beautiful little girl! Elle(L) Victoria 7lbs 11oz, 20in. I went in for my appt as you guys know at 8:30 on Monday, he said my fluids were low and they would call me in between 1-2 to induce me. I got the call at 12:45 and WAS NOT READY!!! It's a little different when you know you are going in to have someone inflict pain on you!!! He broke my water at 2:04pm, my first true contractions came around 2:45, I was is miserable pain by 4 (Once again had back labor...I know labor is terrible but I wouldn't wish back labor on my worse enemy) I wanted to go without the epi but by 4 I was like "I better not feel another contraction get him in here NOW to give me the epi" Well he didn't get in there until about 4:15, Was trying to get the epi in and I kept saying "I CAN"T SIT THE HEAD IS BETWEEN MY LEGS" The nurse and antestesiologist were arguing for a minute because she kept saynig "I have to check her" and he said "Nope we are doing this epi" so he got it in about 4:20-4:25 and she was born at 4:28 (Pushed 3 times!!! A little different than the 4 hours of pushing with Jacob) All and all, I was glad the epi didn't work because it was my incentive to get her out...it hurt like a BEEATCH and I knew it didn't matter what I did I just needed to push harder so she came out about 3 minutes after I laid back on the bed!!! It was actually very nice however to have the epi for an hour after to kind of let my body recover!!!

Haha EJ that sounds like a near perfect labor and delivery! I wish mine would've went like that! I didn't push long either but really didn't want the epi or really any drugs, so not even the pitocin. Hope all you ladies are feeling well! BEKA - Are you still around? Any baby yet?

Congrats EJ and Heather! Ok, so anyone else suffering postpartum? I cannot stop crying. I guess I feel kind of like a failure too, since I tried a vbac and that didn't work and then I failed at nursing...goodness...thanks for the vent.

Thanks ladies!! Aryanna I am not there yet mostly because it is still all so new. I am very nervous for the baby blues. I didn't get post partum with my son but I certainly got the baby blues very emotional and I don't want that feeling. Right now I am a little over-whelmed with a 17mo old but we have only had one morning (this morning) and then he went to daycare so tomorrow should be the true test...actually next week when Aaron goes back to work...but at least Jacob is in daycare so I will have time alone with Elle but still...yucky-I am not ready for that feeling to come

And Aryanna...Don't you feel like a failure for one second...You experienced 99% of natural childbirth...you can't control the fact that your body wouldn't go to 100%. As far as nursing...it is not easy...there is no reason you should feel like you are failing because of it...you are a wonderful mother and that is all that matters!! Hang in there!

congrats heather and ej!! how exciting, love the names too. I can't believe they gave you an epi that late and he didn't let the nurse check you!!!! Glad to hear you both have lovely healthy babies.
Aryanna, don't worry i have had a few cries too. Feeling a bit overwhelmed at times with a toddler and newborn...the tiredness really hits you after a week or so. I think all new moms cry at some points. Sometimes I don't even want people to come and visit because I just can't be bothered trying to organise my day around people and having people here when all i want to do is rest!!! My feeding has also been up and down- had a blocked duct last night that was SO painful, think i'm going to bottle feed as it's all been too much. I feel a bit guilty but i just have to remember that i am doing what is best for my situation- like you are too Aryanna and there is nothing wrong with that. Things will get better but don't be ashamed to get some help from your doctor if you feel you need to.

Thanks girls, I really appreciate the kind words. I'm trying to think positive today and let go of the b___stfeeding situation. I have a beautiful healthy little girl (well not so little really!) and I have to get past this. I know it will pa__s,I just didn't really have it with the other two so this is new to me. I guess I just wanted things to be different so badly this time, ie no c-section and b___stfeeding, and it's all turned out the same as before. So I'll keep trudging along, thanks for listening. Take care all.

CONGRATS LIZ!!!!!! HOPE EVERYONE ELSE IS DOING WELL. MY LIL GIANNA IS SUCH A GREAT BABY- SHE SLEEPS FOR 3-5 HRS. AT A TIME AT NIGHT, IS NURSING WELL, & STARTING TO BE MORE ALERT DURING THE DAY TIME HRS. MY C-SECTION INCISION ISN'T HEALING AS FAST AS I'D LIKE IT TO- STILL A LIL SWOLLEN ON THE RIGHT SIDE & WAS BLEEDING A LIL, SO THE DR. CALLED IN AN ANTIBIOTIC TO THE PHARMACY. BUT, IT'S PROBABLY PARTIALLY MY FAULT, B/C I CAN'T SIT STILL- I AM UP & DOWN THE STAIRS ALL DAY LONG & DOING WASH, CLEANING & COOKING. GIANNA HAD HER 1ST REAL BATH TODAY AT 16 DAYS, HER CORD FINALLY FELL OFF THIS MORNING. SHE DIDN'T KNOW WHAT TO THINK OF THE WATER & CRIED FOR A MINUTE, BUT THEN WAS FINE. I HOPE YOU ALL ARE ENJOYING YOUR LIL BUNDLES & THOSE WHO ARE STILL WAITING, IT WON'T BE LONG NOW!!!!

Hey Everyone! Well Joseph is finally here! He was born on Tuesday 10/28 at 9:15am via C-Section. He weighed 6lbs, 5oz and is 19 inches long. The delivery went perfect however within minutes they put him in the NICU because he was having trouble breathing. They said he had fluid in his lungs and an air pocket underneath his lungs that was preventing him from fully using them. We just got released yesterday. It was so hard- I couldn't hold him for 2 days and he had a bunch of tubes all over him. I just started being able to nurse him on Thursday and now that we are home he is not nursing well. It is really discouraging. I am trying so hard but he doesn't seem to want to take it. I am pumping and at least getting him my milk that way but I wish I could nurse him as well. I am having a lot more pain this time from my C-Section but my doctor said it is because I also had my tubes tied so that would increase the pain quite a bit and on top of all that, we found out 2 weeks ago that our landlord was foreclosing and didn't tell us so for the past 2 weeks we have been moving. Of course as stubborn as I am I was moving before the delivery and doing stuff I wasn't supposed to be and now that I am finally home and everything is everywhere I can't seem to sit down to heal because I have to put stuff away so I don't go crazy. That is probably why I am in so much pain. I am starting to feel overwhelmed with 4 kids now (2 of them toddlers and a newborn) and starting to feel sad a bit more than usual. Wish me luck, I don't want to get depressed. Ok well I am exhausted so I think I may actually lay down while the baby is sleeping and the other kids are napping. Everyone update and let me know how your babies are doing!

Congrats JoeyB! That is so exciting!! I am sorry to hear about the difficulties. I am glad he is doing well now. I am SO sorry to hear the nursing is so hard. Try try to hang in there. Although my son wasn't in the NICU when he was born he didn't nurse because he was SUCH a sleepy baby..I was so determined to nurse that I fed him through a pipet for 10 days until he FINALLY started to latch...it was 2 weeks of pure HELL, plus coming down off of PG hormones...it was awful but I ended up nursing him for 8-9 mo and it was SO worth it!! Good luck...if you REALLY want to nurse than just hang in there and keep trying...each day will get better...if you don't really care if you nurse then don't put yourself through all the stress...it isn't worth it! Either way whatever decision you make will be great for you and your babe!

Does anyone know anything about an umbilical hernia? I had to take Sammie to the ER last night because her belly b___ton looked like a little balloon and it looked purplish toward the tip. The ER doc said she has an umbilical hernia and to keep an eye on it, if I can't push it in and her belly is real tender to take her to the ER again or if she gets a fever or whatnot, but other than that just to keep an eye on it and not to worry. But I am worried.
