I am having my first child and am currently 8 1/2 mo pregnant. I had the same response from many friends about my small stomach size. When i asked my doctor about it, she said she was perfectly happy with my growth rate, and that you only are expected to grow a cm per week (measuring from pelvis to bra line, so at 30 weeks you should be about 30 cm. i mentioned around my 6 mo that i wasn't that big yet... she said that i'd catch up by my 8th month. She was right. I'm not huge, but i fit all the requirements. I'd ask my doctor if i were you. If they aren't worried, i wouldn't fret about it.

I am having my first child too and I was quite pet_te when I conceived. From 3 months on, people have commented on how big my belly is. I have been carrying straight out front like a basketball, as I always thought I would for my first child. The point is, people will always have comments and opinions but you have to remember that all woman are shaped differently and therefore all woman will carry baby differently. 1 cm per week is healthy and typical. I am 38 weeks and 38 cm exactly. Like Kerri said, if your doctor hasn't said anything negative about it, then don't worry about what other people have said. Alot of times you will get these comments from woman who were on the bigger side while pregnant. It may just be a little jealousy.

Rachelle, everyone is diffrent, so noone can really say how big you should be, it all depends on your size, stomach muscles, and also where the baby is lying, as long as your feeling all the baby movements at this stage and all your doctors are happy with the babys progress i would not worry what your co workers say,i am a mother of 4 and i am currently pregnant with number 5, i am almost 7 months pregnant but you can hardly tell as i was quite slim and tall ,enjoy your pregnancy honey xx

I AM 17-HAVING MY FIRST BABY AND EVERYONE TELLS ME MY TUMMY LOOKS UNREAL BECUZ IM SO SMALL TO BE 34 WEEKS PREGNANT. I WEIGHT ABOUT 116LBS BUT MY TOTAL WEIGHT GAIN SO FAR HAS BEEN 20 LBS, I JUST CARRY SMALL AND COMPACT. EVERY GIRL CARRYS DIFFERENT-THERE IS NO RIHGT SIZE OR SHAPE, IT DEPENDS ON YOUR WEIGHT AND BOBY STRUCTURE BEFORE YOU GOT PREGNANT.

I am 7 months pregnant and you cant even tell I am pregnant yet. This is going to be my second child, the first I hardly showed at all. It all depends on you. Everyone is diffrent. Oh and a little tip....you dont have to over eat cause you are pregnant, just eat the right nutrients

Me too, I am just about 31 weeks pregnant and everybody incl. my Dr. says I am carrying small. In fact, the Dr. thinks I could go into Labour prematurely. The baby was concived on the right side of my Uterus, the Dr. says if the Ultrasound says the baby is fine and measures well, than everything is okay, and he's now 10% bigger than the average Fetus, which is strange because I am so small. I'm carrying all round not out in the front so perhaps that's why I look smaller, but am not sure and this is my first baby as well. My stomach was completely flat like a board before I got pregnant. I sure hope I get it back because I sure loved my stomach and for my age, (41 yrs.) I had a GREAT shape. Did very little excerise.

Lori - August 26

I am 25 weeks pregnant and am getting similar comments. I have been worried too and will feel better next week when my Dr. measures me again. 3 weeks ago everything seemed fine so I am not too concerned. I have been exercising and eating healthy which may have something to do with it?

brucen - August 28

Guys it could be worse, total strangers could be telling you how huge you are.

kellie - August 28

i am currently 7 and a half months preg and i get the same response from everyone i work with on how small my stomach is my co workers did not even know till recently i was preg i just walked into work one day with no tummy and back the next with a little one. as long as you are measuring correctly to the standards that kerri stated below when you go to the doc then you dont have to worry about it it could be just the way that the baby is laying

Tabitha - August 28

I think it depends on your size before you conceved because im 7 months and im not very big at all my belly is 15 inches from top to bottom and 21 from side to side, as far as i know im doin great tho and so my baby

Mariela - September 7

Hi, i am 5 months pregnant about 22 weeks, and before i got pregnant i weighed 101, 5'2, and yes very slim fit into a size 1 in jeans, and u can barely tall im pregnant. I look like i could be 3 months. My stomach is pointy, it looks like im carrying a basketball but my doctor says that my baby's measurement is fine, and that every womans body is different so every woman carry's a baby different.

Jasmin - September 20

How does your stomach look when you're one month pregnant?

Mary Ellen - September 21

I'm due in late January and my belly is 6 inches bigger than it should be at this time. What can that mean.

Rebecca - September 27

This is my second child and I am 19 weeks and my belly is soft in the mornings until I eat and then it hardens and is huge. Anyone ever have this?
