Hi, im new to this as i am am firstly having twins and its my first pregnancy. I am now more concerned now i know i am having twins as i am extremley overweight, before i got pregnant i was approx 23stone. Although i am fit and healthy i am not so worried about me but of the babies, will they get hurt if i lie on my back, get squashed etc. plus it felt like my skin was gonna rip with stretch marks before i got pregnant, will is actually happen now, then what. Obviously i find it difficult buying clothes now, what should i do and where should i go when im like 6 months plus. Has anyone else gone through this or going through this, im due march 12th, please help.

Just try to eat healthful foods during your pregnancy, and your weight gain shouldn't be too much. Don't worry, your skin will accommodate the growth of the babies. You aren't going to squish them, but do try not to lay on your back since the babies will push on your insides and isn't good for their oxygen supply. Just listen to your body and your OB. Rest when you are tired, eat when you are hungry and drink tons of water.

My daughter is 21 weeks with twins. She started at about 240 lbs, is currently measuring 31 weeks, and actually has only gained about 10 lbs - your skin will make it, although the rest of you may not think so! Laying on your back is not really good for a twin mom, period. It can actually cut of blood (and oxygen?), you should always lay at least slightly propped and/or slightly turned. But that has nothing to do with YOUR belly weight laying on them - it is just recommended for twin moms, regardless of size, to lay on their side (specifically, left side).
