Hi. Please don't bash me. I haven't started using it yet but I am thinking about it. it seems alot of ladies here are taking it to get twins -my wish too - but does it really work to get twins? I have no problem getting pregnant. I guess I don't want to order it and deal with the side effects if it's not going to work.

There are many herbal, natural, LEGAL ways you may want to look into first... Vitex, Red Raspberry Leaf Tea, that kind of thing....

Vitex is a great one. I used it and all though I did not get prenant at that time ... The doctor said after a penitrating ultrasound that I most likely would or could have twins at the very least. as I was producing a lot of eggs. I also have PCOS so I can tell you first hand it works well... Baby Blessing to you .

Thanks mama-beans. I will definitely look into those. Again I'm not really sure I want clomid (probably not going to take it) but I didn't want to rule anything out. I haven't really seen any evidence that it produces multiples for a woman who doesn't technically need it.

Where do you find the vitex? Is it very expensive? How often do you take it?
I guess I should really look into this more.

If you do decide that you want to go the Clomid route, at least find a doctor to prescribe it to you so that you can be properly monitored to help reduce your risks! Much luck to you.

mama-beans, I've seen you post alot on this site. I just found some info on clomid, do you know if this is true:
?When everything else seems normal – ovulation, regular menses, high sperm count – but the couple are still unable to conceive for some reason, it is called unexplained infertility. Clomid has been prescribed in these cases at times – but has proved to be ineffective. In fact, taking Clomid when it is not required may decrease the woman’s chances of conceiving. Clomid has an anti-estrogen effect, which may cause thickening of the cervical lining, inhibiting the entry of sperm. It may also cause thinning of the uterine lining, preventing the sperm from implanting"
I don't want to prevent myself from getting pregnant.

I was advised of the same research when I was prescribed Clomid, in an effort to fully disclose all possible side effects of this drug. While that part didn't really concern me as I do not ovulate on my own and was using Clomid to help fix that problem, It is still good information to have... but I haven't seen any statistics concerning it. I have seen several studies linking Clomid and infertility as far as damage to the ovaries goes... as well as cysts that can do plenty of damage on their own.. But we need to remember that very little studies have been done concerning Clomid and it's use in women who don't need it for it's intended purpose. In order to get FDA approval, extensive testing must be done using the drug for it's intended purpose, with possible side effects being noted. This product was not tested on women who don't need it, so the results in women using it for purposes other then it's intended purpose are at this point still speculation. That being said, a good friend of mine was prescribed Clomid to help in conception when their infertility was on daddies side.. ( very poor sperm count/quality) and she conceived a beautiful little girl on her 3rd round. It did help her..couldn't say if it would do the same for others. Also I should note that she was closely monitored throughout her cycle to help minimize the risks of this drug.
