I just had an ultrasound and am 7 weeks along. There is one gestational sac and the ultrasound tech said there is one baby. The problem is this. I can see the one baby on one end of the gestational sac (Baby A) BUT there is another sac at the other end of the gestational sac (B?). I asked her what it was and she said that it was a yolk but it would disappear over the next few weeks. There was no heart beat on the second one (B) so I did not make a big deal about it. The second one (B) is only half the size of baby A. Does anyone have a clue what is going on? Thanks for your help!

I have the same thing in my u/s at 8 weeks and the tec told me it is a yolk sac that feeds the baby. I did find a picture of it at pregnancyabout.com in ultrasound pics. I would have to guess that they are right. However, everything in me still says I am having twins so I really don't know for sure. Check out that pic and see if yours looked like that. My other question to the tec was why can we see it in only one of my pics b/c ot was my understanding that they don't move they are attatched to the lining. Is yours in all your pics?

What picture was it exactly? Because the ones that I have looked at are not like mine. Ok, mine is like this. My sac is shaped sorta like a heart. The baby with a heart beat is in one hump on top and the second (B) is in the second hump on top but way on the other side. They are not close at all. Mine is in all 3 u/s pictures.

I had an u/s 3 days ago and they told me that I was 6 wks and 5 days. The dr saw what looked like two fetus's in the same sac BUT only one had a heartbeat. I have to go back in 3 weeks so that they can do another vag u/s. I'll keep you posted.
