I knew I was pregnant the day after conception, at 2 wks I had unbelievable fatigue and body aches, at 5 wks started cramping, bleeding and passed quite a lot of tissue. Called doc and went in for an u/s and discovered 2 sacks 1 heartbeat. Doc said it is possible that I lost one but the empty sack could still contain a baby. Did anyone else that showed 2 sacks/1 hb experience the m/c symtoms? How long until the body absorbs an empty sack?

Erin, I'm so sorry for your situation. Hopefully the sac still does contain a baby and you just couldn't see it. I was posting because I have read about VTS (Vanishing Twin Syndrom), as I was worried about it at the beginning of my pregnancy. What happens is you can lose one twin and it will just generally be absorbed into your body before you even know it - most/a lot of people don't even know that they were pregnant with twins to begin with. So if the baby didn't make it, I would think that by your next u/s, there will only be 1 sac. But hopefully it is fine - good luck!
