I am not pregnant with twins or any other multiples but am writing a story that MAY involve a character conceiving twins. The story takes place in the 1960's and I was wonder if anyone knows of any wives tales or any ways they had of naturally determining that there was a multiples-pregnancy at that time in the century, before ultrasounds and such modern technology became readily available. I'd appreciate any information or stories anyone is willing to share. Thank you.

they only way they found out was when another baby came out after the first! some doctors may have been able to tell from feeling, and of course if the mother measures big for gestational age....etc
