I am having twin girls (first time pregnant) and I was wondering about the names Xia and Xanthina. I like the letter X, if you hadn't guessed, and so does my boyfriend. If you don't like these names, do you know any more that begin with X?

Xa__sandra, Xanthe, Xena, Xzenia are some more you could add to your X list. Xzenia would be my favourite. Xia's pretty cool too.

With an "X" name your child will have the last locker when it comes to school. Your childs name will also be mispronounced at her highschool graduation, etc. I have a unique name as well, and although it is nice to have something different from others, I hate that, reading it, almost no one can pronounce it correctly, and no one can remember it... making it hard to make a good impression in the professional world... you WANT to be remembered as someone other then "the one with the weird name". Just something to think about..... maybe an "X"name for a middle name? call your children by their middle names, but if they need to be in the professional world, they can have a name that , still unique, is easier to remember/pronounce. That way they have a choice in the matter.

Ive done the middle name thing. Everyone knows my son as Nas because his middle name is Nasir but his first name is Spencer, just to make it easier for getting a job when he's older. Hes only 2 but he will answer to either name. My name is a unique name and I love it to bits but I remember as a kid I wanted to be anna or emma or rachel or sarah because adults would look at me funny when they couldn't read my name. Nowdays Im not so fussed. Not my fault if theyre too ignorant to actually try and pronounce my name properly. Its not as though its a made up name, its just that its not so common. I tend to go for real names with nice meanings. I still like them to be a little different though. My DH is Andrew and he loves names that aren't so common.
