To Kim and Julie - Big Congratulations! I am always so excited to read your posts. Kim, I am so sorry about your niece, and I hope that time heals your family hearts. To Sarah - Thanks so much for all the abbreviation explanations! I never would've figured out most of those! How long have you been TTC? - Kristina

Has anyone tried unsuccessfully to get clomid through their doctor? I am just wondering if I tell my ob that I have irregular cycles, if that would be enough for her to prescribe it. Or do they all require tests? My cycles are pretty normal so tests would probably only rule out the need for clomid. I'm also curious who ordered generic clomid and who ordered the name brand? Thanks!

hi i was wondering if you could get pregnant using clomid if you have had an injection to prevent pregnancy.

are you all serious? - July 19

Complications of the Fetus and Newborn with Multiple Gestation • Preterm birth occurs in over 50% of twin pregnancies, 90% of triplet pregnancies, and virtually all quadruplet pregnancies. • Compared to singleton pregnancies, a twin is seven times more likely and a triplet is over 20 times more likely to die in the first month of life. • Prematurity is a__sociated with an increased risk of respiratory distress syndrome (RDS), intra-cranial hemorrhage, cerebral palsy, blindness, low birth weight, and neonatal morbidity and mortality. RDS accounts for 50% of all neonatal deaths a__sociated with premature birth. • Intrauterine growth restriction, intrauterine death of one or more fetuses, miscarriage, and congenital anomalies are all more common. • Lifelong disability is over 25% for babies weighing less than 1,000 grams (2 lbs., 3 oz.). Maternal Complications a__sociated with Multiple Gestation • Preeclampsia, also called pregnancy-induced hypertension, occurs three to five times more frequently. Severe preeclampsia may be life threatening. • Premature labor requiring prolonged bed rest or hospitalization is common. • Placental abnormalities a__sociated with maternal hemorrhage are more likely to occur. • Gestational diabetes, anemia, and polyhydramnios (excess amniotic fluid) occur more frequently. • Cesarean section is often needed for twin pregnancies and almost always required for triplets. Other Considerations • Multiple gestation is a__sociated with more nausea and vomiting, anemia, fatigue, weight gain, heartburn, lack of sleep, financial difficulties, depression, and marital discord.

yeah, we're serious - July 19

I've read every book there is about multiple pregnancies, and am well aware of the risks. BELIEVE me, there's nothing that you can say to change my mind. I agree that it's not a good idea to carry multiples if you can't even carry a singleton to term. But, none of us here have that problem. Especially me. My family has HUGE, HEALTHY babies, including myself. Doctors will tell you the risks are much less for someone in my situation, but you have to be careful reguardless. You do with EVERY pregnancy. Everyone here knows that. So, spare us the parental guidance routine. We're all adults here. *****Baby dust to everyone trying*******

Hi, I told my dr about my period problems. All he did was put me on birth control for 2 months and in August I will start my clomid. I had some blood work done, to check my thyroid and for my Female hormone level. He doesnot have a problem giving it to me just can't use it more then 6 months. He said something about causing health problems. I would try IVF if your dr wont do it. I know that's more $$$. Hopefully this helps you. Trinity =-) Good luck....

Gee - I didnt' think we asked for anyones info on health issues with Multiple births...I'm pretty sure anyone who wants twins is also aware of them..good point. I have several friends & relatives who have successfully carried their twins right up to full term with healthy 6 pd twins...don't be so negative...
