Lauren - I am taking 100mg days 3-7. I also am taking mine in the evenig. Tonight will be my third night. I have only had a mild headache so far today. Maybe my body is starting to adjust. The bloating is back, but I can handle that. Good luck on not having to many side effects. Baby Dust!

Hey all! I have read the entire page of posts and it's been wonderful! I never knew I would find a board that actually supports us! I'm 32 and on my 1st round of Fertomid 50mg. CD 5-9 with tomorrow being my last day. I will be going to the store tomorrow for Mucinex and baby aspirin. Thanks for the tips! Congrats to the new pregnancies! Good luck to all trying!

I guess I should probably add that I have had 3 boys and 2 miscarriages. I do ovulate on my own. I am trying for twins. I would be thrilled to get a girl! This will be my last pregnancy.

With you being in your 30's your chances are increased with twins. So much luck to you. Trinity =-) ~~Baby Dust To All~~

I am on Clomid since February, to date no pregnancy. Last month my gyn. told me that I will have to increase my dosage to 150mg, for my eggs are not being stimulated on 100mg. Has anyone increase their dosage and was successfull?

melissa - August 5

Sheral - I had to increase my clomid to 150 mg. and that was the dosage I concieved my twins on (now 31 wks, 5 days!). I conceived my daughter on 100 mg. a little over 3 years ago, but I always started out at 50 mg. Good luck to you!!

Sheral - August 5

to Milissa, how long were you on clomid 150mg before you conceived?

melissa - August 5

Sheral - I was on 150 for just 2 months and I concieved. Unfortunately that pregnancy ended in a miscarriage, but when I started my period again, the doc. put me right back on 150 mg. and that's when we concieved the twins (6 weeks after the miscarriage). I took my clomid days 5-9. I started out at 50 mg. each time we have attempted to concieve and tracked ovulation with the pee sticks. I seem to ovulate later in my cycle (days 19/20). I have PCOS and don't ovulate on my own, so that is why I take the clomid. I also took metformin/glucophage to help with ovulation. Hope that helps.

I'm starting on Clomid this tuesday. I have a problem with ovulating too. Can you tell me if you had any side effects when taking it? Does it matter if twins run on both my husband and my side of the family? How long before your DR. uped your Clomid? Trinity. ~~Baby Dust for everyone~~ =-)

Melissa - August 5

For my first pregnancy I started at 50 mg. Stayed on that and added Glucophage to it (concieved at 50 mg. after 5 cycles). I have to say it ended up being 11 months from the time we started trying until we concieved since my cycles ended up being between 35 and 40 days and trying to add in the glucophage. When we tried to concieve #2, we just started at 50 mg. plus the glucophage. After 3 cyles, it was upped to 100 mg. Next cyle, it went to 150, which I concieved on (ended in miscarriage) and then concieved the next cycle again on 150 mg. So, I guess it took 5 cycles to concieve the second time. I guess you're supposed to be pretty fertile after you have a miscarriage, so we decided to try again right away and it happened to be twins. So, to sum it up, it took me approximately 5 full cycles to concieve each time. Twins run on both sides of our families, so I don't know if that played a part, but I also know from my Dr. that twins is about 10% more likely when on clomid for ovulation problems. I had no side effects at 50 mg., but when it went up to 100 and 150, I got some bad hot flashes. That was about it.

I was wondering if anyone could tell me how to use the egg whites. As I wrote before, I ovulate on my own, but I ovulate late which is causing my miscarriages. I am only on 50 mg, yet when my RE did an u/s on Thurs. to check for ovulation, I had 4 BIG FAT FOLLICLES!! He said he can give me the hcg shot to lower the number that actually ovulates to one or two, but DH is out of state and won't be home for this one anyway. I have noticed that the clomid has really dried me up. He did tell me that the higher the dosage you take, the more at risk you are for thinning of the endometrium and dryness. How, when, and how much egg white do you use? You ladies are brave. If I wasn't being monitored by my RE, I could have ended up with quads!!

Michele - August 6

I just found out DH is coming home Tuesday. I will still be fertile and didn't get the hcg shot to lower the risk of multiples. Since we already know that I am ovulating 4 eggs, does anyone know what the chances are of all 4 eggs getting fertilized? I would hate to miss the chance of conceiving this month. Has anyone been told they had multiple eggs before getting pregnant and find out not all eggs fertilized? I would appreciate any info.

Michele: Egg whites are okay to use but pre seed is better. Pre seed is more like the s____n and is better for the sperm and it comes with aplicators to insert it. Use them no more than 15 minutes before BDing. My husband flipped at the idea of egg whites so I never used those. That was when I found pre seed. I bought mine online, but either Walmart or Target had it when I was there. You could probably go to CVS or Walgreens as well. Hope this helps. Baby Dust!

Michelle, You could also try taking robitussin a few times a day. I did this the last couple of times I concieved and it seemed to really help! Good luck!
