Chances Of Twins Multiples

Sarah Lee - I always ovulated late while taking Clomid (although I don't ovulate on my own at all). I O'd around day 19/20. Concieved 2 single pregnancies (one ended in m/c) and am now 37 1/2 weeks with boy/girl twins. I heard that the timing of when you take clomid can make a difference as well. I always took mine days 5-9 and was told you probably will ovulate 10 days after taking your last pill. Hope that helps.

Well I went to the doctor on Tuesday the 13th and u/s showed two big ripe eggs. The doc gave me a shot to bring them down. The problem I have I can't sit it hurts into my front from all the pressure.

Everyone is different when it comes to when they ovulate. My first two months on clomid I ovulated normally at cd14. My third month I ovulated on cd17. Kim said she O on the 19th. If you can't feel yourself O then get a opk. It will make it easier to know when to bd. I also read on the paperwork the doctor gave me to start bding 2-3 days after taking the last pill, every other day for 10-12 days. That should cover all your bases on when you ovulate. Hopes this helps and Baby Dust!

Hi Well, I'm still waiting for AF, and it's 39 CD. I took a pregnancy test 3 times and it's NEGATIVE! Stress, dieting, exercise??? This has happened to me when I took 100-150 mgs NOT just 50 mgs of Clomid. Any insight???? Has this happened to anyone? Min

Minerva - September 17

Hi Everyone! I found this at http://pillseller.net/clomid.html If your period does not arrive after the 35 th day there are two likely possibilities: the dose of Clomid has not been sufficient to produce ovulation, or you are pregnant If your period is overdue, contact your doctor/fertility unit and they will advise you what steps to take. Well, I am about to take dose 3 of my clomid (100mg) and the only real S/E I have had are mild mood swings and lastnight I couldnt sleep for the life of me and I was so HOT! Have had a few cramps as well but, nothing major. I really hope this works for me this is my first cycle of clomid and feel so desperate for it to work! I have been TTC for 6 months now with no BFP in sight. I also found out that DH is secretly hoping for twins so he was thrilled to find out clomid increases the chances a little although he said he is scared of more then 2...lol. I will just be happy with 1 so anything will be good in my book. Sending all you ladies tons BABYDUST!

Everyone/All I, while going for infertility with my wife for 5 years I have learned/research all the drugs and considered myself now quite a "expert' , ( if i can throw that word around losely). Do you people understand what you are doing ? DO you understand all the side effects of Clomid? I can a__sure that you that if you knew , NONE of you would be willing to take this drug for TWINS! While a "side effect" of using the drug is sometimes the release of multiple follicles, it is mainly used in stimulation, however it effects negatively the lining of many many woman. It also has many , many more side effects that are too many to mention. Also , do a web search in medical journals about the research being done due to the increase in birth defects directly correlated to this drug. Why do you ask, would anyone take this drug? Because being faced with either take this medicine with the risk or have no child at all, many THEN are willing to take this risk. Good luck in your need to play doctor.

dont play God - twins are high risk and a lot can happen - let God give you what he wants you to have!!

my story - September 18

Like Kim I ovulate normally and have no problem conceiving in the past. I have a little girl... in my quest for twins I took Clomid and did in fact get pregnant the first time... I'm healthy and have never had any problems well... I DID get pregnant but something wasn't right, my HCG levels weren't doubling as they should and I am now going though a miscarriage as I write this. The doctor believes that the Clomid effected my lining and although the egg and sperm met and was fertilized it didn't develop properly or embed correctly... BE CAREFUL and decide if this is worth it. I too would love twins but I'm not going to do it again - the risk is too high and I now have a cyst on my ovary.

Hi, I just wanted to introduce myself, I recently found this board and I am so glad I did! I tried to post on other boards, but got the same reaction many of you did - that I was being selfish and stupid. My husband and I have been trying for two months now and nothing which I know is not a long time, but our first child was concieved despite contraceptives ( non chemical). Anyway, I have ordered my supply of Clomid and am hoping to start the first week in Oct. I also plan on taking the Mucinex and Asprin and i have been on Prenatals and folic acid for about 4 months. I would like to know if there is any real evidence that waitng until your 2nd cycle of Clomid is more effective or should we just go ahead and BD when the time is right on our first cycle? Any help is appreciated and Twin Dust to all*********

Hey fellow "want twins" ladies!! :) I have a favor to ask...my son is in a photo contest right now online, will you please vote for him? Go to www.photowow.com, and click on the link "Photo Contests". His entrant #: 32595. The contest ends 9/20 at 1pm. Thank you so much! We have put our TTC journey on hold for now b/c we just found out that DH will be deployed to Iraq for 7 months starting in Dec. and I don't want to be preggo while he is gone since he missed the whole pregnancy and birth of our son. Hope to see some more BFP's from everyone! :) ~Baby dust to all!~
