Hi there. I'm new at this so bare with me. I was diagnosed with PCOS early last year. My doctor has just now prescribed Metformin in combination with Clomid. So far I feel no different and no pregnancy. i really want to start a family. Does any one success stories for a thirty year old?

Hi, everyone I have been on clomid for 2 cycles I am hoping this cycle will work i am now cd20 with mild cramping has anyone had this i have had a progesterone test so i am ov, we have been ttc for 4 yrs now, we have one child and would like one more. has anyone exp weight gain, i am taking prescribed clomid 50 mg

Hello just joined this forum! I am almost 28 and have PCOS. My husband and I have only been trying about 4 months to get pregnant but recently went to a fertility doc because of my PCOS. I just started Clomid 50 mg this cycle. Went for an initial ultrasound after taking the clomid and the doc found that my egg follicles are not as big as they would like them to be (9mm as opposed to the 20mm that would be ideal for ovulation). So i go in again on Saturday for another ultrasound to see if they have gotten any bigger. He mentioned that if this cycle does not work, they may need to increase the clomid. I have one ovary that has about 14-16 cysts and the other is alright....He has not brought up taking Metformin--even though my cycles range 60 something days--just to take provera to bring on the period....Does anybody have any suggestions? Has anybody gone through with insemination after finding out that the Clomid isnt working?

My Dr. said that is normal but since I had another blighted ovum 4 years ago which we conceived naturally, I am worried now that it may happen again next time . There is not much known about the causes of blighted ovum and how to prevent it . I am wondering if anybody suffers from recurrent miscarriages specially with blighted ovum and has she been able to have a healthy baby ultimately. It is nice to be able to talk to other women about these stuff since I feel upset about my last miscarriage.Thanks and good luck to all.

I am 33 overweight with PCOS. I haven't had a normal period since I was 21. . TTC naturally for over 7 years. I have been on metformin 500mg 2xdaily ($4.00 at my local Wal-mart) for about 9 months now. I have also been on fluoxetine 20mg daily ($4.00 at my local Wal-mart) for 5 months. I asked my doctor to put me on Clomid 50mg ($9.00 at my local Wal-mart) in April. I am now pregnant. So I know that it doesn't have to cost a fortune for everybody and you should never give up hope.

Denise27sam--thanks so much for your encouragement, I am going to ask the doc about Metformin...I am currently taking the provera to give me the period so i can start the cycle over again with an increased dose of Clomid, think 100mg.... Gosh! 10 years!! I am so sorry it has taken so long, i wish you lots of luck, i really hope you will become pregnant soon--so sorry to hear about your health insurance, i think a lot of us take it for granted. About the pregnancy- a lot of people are telling me to just let it happen, relax, it will happen when the time is right....but i want to try some methods first. Best of luck and keep us posted :)

Cpedersen, Thanks for the kind words. My ten years sounds worse than it is. The first five I just kept telling myself that I just must be missing my O's. Then about year 5 I started to suspect that something my be wrong. That is when I went and sought help. I have a VERY supportive family. My parents have accually offered more than once to PAY for two months of my Inferti. treatments. I really would love to take it I just can't. Also my family has never said " If you can get preg." They have always said " WHEN you have your babies". I know that is not always the case. My husbands family is not supportive... even though his mom had to do treatments to have his sister. My very best friend has PCOs and has two children. she is also very supportive. I do understand why people say just relax... but that is not helpful sometimes. The ones who say the fun is in the trying, clearly have not not had to try. After 6 months the fun is NOT in the trying... the work and worry is in the trying and heart break is in the negitive result. Just don't let anyone tell you how to feel, good or bad.

I have been trying to conceive for the past 6 months,but didn't ovulate on my own during those period. I took clomid 100mg on days 2-6. I ovulated on day 15 and today (day 32), I did a pregnancy test and it came out positive. Clomid does really help, and I thank God for answering my prayers

Congrats to you cjn!!! You must be so excited! My ultrasound last night was a good one--egg follicles are at 18mm on day 12 from 100 mg of clomid days 3-7. The doc feels that i will be ovulating on Sunday--so we will be keeping busy this weekend! We are hoping for the best :)

I am 28 yrs old and i had my first IUI done last month. which failed First Cycle (IUI) I had clomid 50mg from day 3-7 and then i went for my daily blood monitoring and ultrasound. I had 10mm follicle on day 10 ( the first monitoring day) and i was given 2 days off. then the follicle started to grow and my Estrogen was rising in the way it was suppose to. but by day 17, I dint surge so i had the ovedril (hcg injection given at 10pm) to trigger my ovulation and 2 days after I had my IUI done. I could feel myself ovulating that day. i was so happy after 2 days i was feeling bloated,tired and lower back pain. i thought i got pregnant after 7 days when i kept having to urinate frequently. I did a home pregnancy test which came back negative after 10 days past IUI . After 13th day past ovulation, I had stomach cramps as if I was going to have my period but it stoped the next day. 15 days past ovulation, I was d__n sure i was pregnant coz with my stomach cramps, i dint get my period. But 1 day later , my period came. Second Cycle (IUI) This is my second cycle. They put me on Femera for day 3 (3 capsule), Clomid Day 3-7 (50mg) and till day 19th I didnt surge but i have 3 follicles now. I have having he Hcg injection on day 19th I had light spotting after this IUI and when I checked my mucus,I dint find it stretcy? as last months...so I thought even with the HCG trigger, I dint ovulate. But I had all the pregnancy symptoms ( nausea, bloating, fatigue) and after 16 days past IUI my period came again. Third Cycle (IUI) Now I am on for this cycle. Medication same as before. I feel frustated.....and anxious.

my cycles are usually very long..cud vary from 35 days to 80 days long. First Cycle: I was given provera for 1 month to have my period start early and I was put on clomid the first month and my follicle size was increasing as it was supose to , howeever we had to trigger the ovulation once the fol was 22mm by day 17 so my IUI was done on 19th day. But this time: estrogen is 120,140,160 and slowly increasing but the numbers are very low. Day E2 LH Size 10 119 7.5 10 11 off 12 13 119 7.5 11 14 131 8.6 12 15 120 8 16 160 6 17 120 10 13 so on the 17th day after my ultrasound, the doctor gave me 2 days off and another ultrasound. but I am loosing hope. Since my cycles are very long we r going to continue monitoring. today is day 20 and i just had my ultasound and the follies are onlt 1cm according to the girl who did my ultrasound. I am having hot flashes....I sweat eery so often and i feet so hot and then i feel cold again. Anyone on Clomid and Femera.
