My levels at 6 weeks were 52000 and 8 days later 200000 but i'm carring twins which i've been told it is very normal for them to be high. Really the only way you know if u are having twins or not is through ultrasound it's only a guessing game otherwise good luck to u and i hope all goes well for you. Mel

I have recently undergone IVF and had one embryo replaced on 05/05/05 (this seems like good luck to my husband and I) I am 37 years old and have just been confirmed pregnant (4 weeks). I am a little concerned about my BHCG levels also as we were told they are 1023 (evidently the score only needs to be over 50 to actually be pregnant.) We've been told that we won't know any more till my ultrasound in one month.....this seems like a long time to wait if something is wrong. Evidently high BHCG scores can also indicate Down Syndrome or Spina Bifida as well as Molar Pregnancy and Multiple Pregnancies!!

My hcg level last monday was 274 (16 days past ovulation) and two days later it was 729, so when I went 6 days later, 25 dpo, my levels were 12,991!!!! All the charts I bring up show 10,000 as a high hcg. I will just be 4 weeks po this friday. Could this be twins? I am turning 35 this summer and know this increases my chances. Anyone out there pg with twins with similar hcg levels?

I will be 6 weeks on 6/2 my HCG levels on 5/24 were 2,706. On 5/26 they were 4,338 is this normal. The Dr. said they usually double in 2 days but mine did not quite double. Anyone else have this happen? My ultrasound on 5/26 showed a sac with a white sapce in it too early to tell anything though. I am worried.

At 5 weeks my HCG levels were 20,900. I was afraid that it was a molar pregnancy. Turned out it was just one baby and no molar pregnancy. I am now 26 weeks and the baby looks great. Good luck to everybody

I don't think your levels are high. I'm actually in the same boat right now but only my levels are extremely high. I am 10 weeks. My last blood draw was on 9 weeks. My HCG went from 190000 in week 8 to 290000 in week 9. I've had 5 ultrasounds already (did one every week since 5 weeks) and everything looks normal, but now I'm hearing downs/spina bifida from people. I'm scared. Doctor won't give me answers.

at 5+3 weeks my hCG levels were 3850, which my doctor said was high, and then at 5+5 weeks, 5560, which she thought didn't increase fast enough. I've had a previous miscarriage, so I'm worried. Going for an ultrasound on Friday to get the definitive answer. Seems like hCG is so variable that it doesn't always give you the answer you want.

I NEED HELP- I had a miscarriage 4 weeks ago. My hcg when I found out I was pregant was 6.7, then I miscarried and it went down to 6.2, then to 5.8. The TWO weeks later I went back for a final check and it was 11.8. Is this a new pregnancy? It would have been approximately 7-ish days past ovulation. I took a hpt this morning (3 days after my 11.8 test) and it showed negative. It is too soon to show on hpt or what? I want to know what is going on??? Anyone?? Thanks.

kelli27 - What does you OB say about your drop in HCG levels? Yes, in most cases it means that you do not have a viable pregnancy. There are a couple other very small possibilities. I'm so sorry I couldn't be more positive! I had a m/c last year and a drop in my HCG level was the biggest sign.
