Hi Ladies! Hope everyone is doing well!My girls went for their 3 month checkup and are doing great! Veronica is 10lb 6 oz and Brittney is 10lb 4 oz. Brittney is also 1" longer. When they were first born there were a few things that could tell them apart, but as they grow and get chubbier it is getting harder and harder everyday! Brittney's face is a little thinner that is what I look at but sometimes if they are not side by side I have confused them, only for a second but it has happened! My oldest daughter thinks it is funny to switch their outfits when people are coming and try to trick them! It is pretty amazing identical twins. Imagine your whole life with a best friend that looks exactly like you! Pretty cool if you ask me! We are all very blessed to have two little someones in our lives! Well hang in their ladies and Keep in touch!

I am 11 weeks pregnant and had an ultrasound at 9 weeks adn there was only 1 placenta and 2 sacs. I'm having twins for sure but are they identical for sure if they share a placenta??

Vicki - January 20

Hi. You gals REALLY give me hope. I was diagnosed with SUPRISE Twins at 7w. They told me "you have the worst type of twins-momo-prob 60% chance they will die". I HOPE AND PRAY Ive been misdiagnosed. I go for a level 2 U/S on Jan 31 to find out. Did your early U/S look like they shared a sac? Mine suer does-they are real close together. Im a nervous wreck. CONGRATS on your babies! :) Vicki

Michelle - January 20

Vicki- I was completely convinced that the diagnosis was correct- I even saw the babies touch each other on the u/s. That is how thin the membrane is between them. At 7 weeks there is NO way they can tell for sure that your babies are momo. I had my u/s at 12 or 14 weeks and they misdiagnoses me. When you go in for your level 2 u/s, even then- they can miss it. It is very rare. Try not to worry...easier said than done I know! Take care...let us know what your next u/s shows!

Hi ladies!! 32 weeks tomorrow, and counting now!! Its getting exciting and nerve racking. Had another scan on monday just gone, there was a bit of a confusion, either one baby isnt growing so well anymore, or they have swapped sides, but the doctor thinks they have just swapped sides as everything else is going really well. But I have to have another scan next thursday (33 weeks) just to see that they are both growing!!! I wish it would stop raining here for a couple of days so I could get all my babies washing done! But I think I can say I am pretty organised, just waiting patiently for my little girls now!!! Sounds like your girls are doing very well Candice, Im worried that Im gonna get confused on which baby is who! when they are a few months old Im gonna get there ears pireced, one with purple and one with pink!!! Michelle how are your boys going? Do you have them home with you yet? Hope all is going well for you all** Congratulations Crystal and Vicki on your twin pregnancies, Crystal it sounds as though your twins are identical, but sometime the placenta's can fuse together, did they say if there was one or two choronic sacs? and two amniotic sacs? Vicki, I too was misdiognosed with mono amniotic twins at 8 weeks, but found a dividing membrane at 12 weeks! A great site to have a look at is monoamniotic.org It gave me a lot of hope before we found the membrane! I have my fingers crossed for you, and hope it works out!! And like Michelle said, there is no way they can tell at 7 weeks! Please let us know how your next scan goes, I bet the waiting seems like forever!! Take care and talk soon xox

Well I had my twins on 1/13/06 and they are great (at 36 weeks & 4 days). The amniotic fluid was too low, so they did the c-section that same day. All is well - Chelsea was 6'3 and Caitlyn was 5'4". They are both great - no NICU and went home from the hospital with me after 40 hours. They are on about the same schedule with sleeping for 3 hours, eating and then more sleeping. Good luck to all of you new moms of twins to be. It is awesome.

cb - January 26

CONGRATULATION Debbie on the birth of your girls, they are good weights, cant beleive you were only in the hospital for 40 hours! Good luck with it all!!!Looks like im next!!

Vicki - February 1

Hi All CONGRATS Debbie :) how wonderful. Well I went to peri yesterday and they couldnt find a membrane. Im very sad. The twins were measuring 1 week ahead-the heart rates were 173 and 167 and he told us they were definitely identical. They didnt have markers for downs syndrome. So, things look good so far-just wish they would find a membrane. Im about 12w. :( I go back to peri in 2 more weeks. Anyone NOT see a membrane at first and then see one later? Vicki

cb - February 1

to 'me' thank you, it was quiet a shock though, I am 21 years old!! where abouts do you live?? Vickie, sorry to hear they never found a membrane, but it is still very early stages, on the monoamniotic.org site some women never found a membrane untill later on in the pregnancy, like 18 or more weeks, and some never found one at all, but when they gave birth, they found one than, they have good heart rates and are growing really well by the sounds of it!! I hope all goes well for you, and please keep us updated with your pregnancy! I have my fingers crossed for you :) gotta go for another scan now, to make sure both my girls are growing at good rates still!!! Talk soon xoxo

Hi Ladies! Congratulations to all of you expecting twins and to Debbie on the safe delivery of her girls! I haven't written in a while! Very busy around here, especially with the four girls. When the twins are sleeping I try to do as much as I can with my older girls! They are great though, they understand and there is not really any jealousy which I am thankful for! CB!! WOW, I am getting so excited for you! How exciting, when are you moving to the city? Or are you there already?? How have you been feeling? You sound in good spirits! I am only 25 and never thought in a million years that I could have twins! I feel overwhelmed sometimes that I have 4 kids already, but when you have two at a time it doesn't take long for your family to grow! It is a shock in the beginning but it is all worth it! The girls are doing really well, they are starting to roll over now and are sleeping in their big crib at nights anywhere from 7-9 hrs, we have them on a pretty good schedule now! I am still b___stfeeding them, but also supplementing them as well! It is very hard to try and keep up with the two of them! Breast feeding is awsome for weight loss though! I have dropped all of my pregnancy weight and then some since having them! I read in a book that b___stfeeding twins you burn 1000 calories a day just feeding! AWSOME! CRYSTAL, if they share a placenta then yes they will be identical, like CB said though they can fuse so it is possible that there were two! My girls were one placenta one chorionic sac and two amniotic sacs! Vicki, I am hoping they have misdiagnosed you! I was misdiagnosed with monoamniotic at 12wks and didn't find the membrane until 20 wks! Sometimes it is so thin that they cannot see it! I was nervous and worried because all the research I was doing on mono twins was not coming back positive! My OB when we thought the twins were in one sac was still positive but said that they would need to be delivered early like around 30-32 wks in case of cord entanglement! I hope they find that membrane at your next US, let us know how it goes! How are you feeling, are you experiencing a lot of morning sickness? Talk to you all soon, Congratulations again and Good Luck to all you twin mom's out there!

Vicki - February 4

Thank you so much. Im hoping and praying for a membrane :) I actually have no symptoms! CAn you believe it? I had none with my DS either. I guess Im lucky LOL Best wishes to you all!

me! to cb - February 4

oh my gosh ur only 21! good for you on keeping tha babies though! im from ireland....very far from you!! you are so close to your delivery time, you must be so excited! make sure you keep us posted! were your babies a mistake? i hate calling it a mistake it sounds so awful, burt i mean unplanned!! do you have a boyfriend? congrats anyway!!

to candice and vicki - February 4

if there is no membrane does that definitely mean they are conjoined?

Vicki - February 4

No, it doesnt mean they are conjoined. Mine arent. What it means it that they share the same placenta AND the same amniotic sac. So, there is a high risk of death because their cords could compress. Im hoping to see a membrane soon :)
