No, it doesnt mean they are conjoined. Mine arent. What it means it that they share the same placenta AND the same amniotic sac. So, there is a high risk of death because their cords could compress. Im hoping to see a membrane soon :)

Hey ladies I haven't posted here in sometime. Since I was 10 weeks. I am now 28 weeks pregnant with Identical twin boys and I was misdiagnosed with having only one amniotic sac. They did find a very thin membrane between them and they do share a placenta. YAY..just thought it might be something for those that have been diagnosed with no membrane to hold out hope that they were misdiagnosed.

Hi.
I am 7 weeks pregnant and I just had my 2nd ultrasound and I seem to be expecting identical twins and there is a chance they are conjoined.

wow, hello everyone, so good to hop on and see all these updates!!! Candice sounds like you are going really well!! Things are starting to get a bit scary here, at my last ultrasound (thursday) my babies hadn't put on as much weight as they should of, so I have to have scans monday, wednesday and friday of this week, than be addmitted into the hospital for a few hours after each scan to do tracings of the babies, Im also starting to get morning sickness again, (but in the afternoons), so it is harder to try and eat. Im praying that all goes well and hopefully they can stay cooking for a bit longer yet :)) I will keep you's posted during the week on how things are looking!! Candice, im booked in to stay in cairns on the 20th feb, but now that all depends on how things go this week! To 'me' it was unplanned, as me and my partner had split up at the time, but we were trying to work things out, and walla I fell pregnant, but before we split up we were trying for another, for about 11 months & during that time I had a misscarige in march (2005) at 5 weeks pregnant, but Im glad I fell pregnant, it helped me realise how much I loved my partner and wanted to be with him!!! It wasn't a mistake, but it was unplanned at that time in our lives!!! Sorry for rambling on :) Daneila, congratulations on your pregnancy, and I hope all turns out well for you, did the doctor say there is a chance of them being conjoined? please keep us posted, take care and talk to you all soon :) xox

Hi CB, the joys of pregnancy hey! You are so close and have done such a great job this far so keep truckin you're almost there!! HOW exciting! I hope the babies start to gain weight it would be nice to have them in there a little longer! I am thinking about you and let us know what is happening! Have you picked names yet?? Vicki, lucky? I'd say! For 14 wks I couldn't keep anything down, but other than that I had a very easy twin pregnancy! Aside from the sleepless nights due to pressure and cramping and the tiredness. I was not on bed rest and went for a walk around town the day I delivered them with my daughter! My OB told me to start walking and it was only 5 days later and they were born! Keep us posted on the membrane!! Talk to you all soon! GOOD LUCK CB! Keep us posted!

hi ladies, how are you all going? Well I had another growth scan today, and things are getting better again! (I will be 35 weeks tomorro) one baby is 4lbs 5oz, and the other is 4lbs 11oz, I go back friday and monday for ctg's, than have another scan next wednesday, the doctor I seen today said that they might induce me next week! Just have to wait and see what happens in the next few appointments... Yeah Candice I am trying for a natural birth, so far I can, but my girls can decide if they want to be head down or breech, they keep turning! Very painfull too!!! But I am getting so so excited and cant wait for the day to come! Im not on bedrest, so Im doing pretty well! I have been staying at my mums all this week, which has been good, especially for the help with my son!! But I move to Cairns on Monday! Cant beleive it is getting so close now!! Well Im off to bed now, so will keep you updated on what happens. Take care & talk soon xox...........

Im 13w2d and they both were measuring 1 week ahead at 14w2d. They were moving lik emad. Their heart rates were 161 and 151. Im so relieved to not have monoamniotic twins. Its just so much less worry for me. CB-sounds like things are going great! WOO HOO You will meet those twins before you know it.

Hi Ladies! Glad to hear that the babies are growing better now CB! How exciting maybe only a week away! How are the babies laying now? Are they head down? Our B twin was born breech and it was very uncomfortable. They were ten minutes apart, so hang in there and I hope everything goes well at the next scan! How are you sleeping at night? Are you getting any rest? So close now hang in there. Keep us posted! VICKI, so glad to hear that the membrane was found. It makes things a little easier knowing that they are seperate! There are so many risks with twins that one less is nice! I wonder how often they misdiagnose that. I think almost everyone on this site was misdiagnosed with that! As long they find it I guess it doesn't really matter but for those few weeks when you are waiting to hear it is the only thing on your mind, it was for me anyway! Well Congratulations on the dividing membrane and keep us posted on how you are feeling! When is your due date? My girls are now 4 months, hard to believe. They are rolling over and giggling it is wonderful with two. It is a lot more work, but so rewarding when those special little moments happen! The first few months are a blurr you just kind of do what you can to get through. Once they are sleeping through the night and on a routine it gets a little easier! GOOD LUCK! Can't wait to hear from everyone!

Hi girls, CONGRATULATIONS vicki on the membrane, that must of been such a releif when they said that!!! I know it was for me!! Well im off to stay in Cairns tomorro (close to the hospital), so you's wernt here from me untill I come home with my little girls!!! Unless I find somewhere close by with internet! I am getting so excited, I cant wait! Hopefully it will happen this week, but the doctor I saw last week, said it is likely that I will get induced by the end of the week!!! Candice, at how old were your girls sleeping through the night? My son never started untill he was nearly two years old!! We tried everything!!!!!!! On the scan last week baby b was breech, & baby a was head down, but I have a feeling they have moved again, that is so painfull, I sit there woundering if im in labour..... Im getting a bit of sleep (would love to be getting more), I cant lay on one side for long before it goes numb, than it hurts heaps to roll over, but the bit I get, is better than not having any at all!!! To me its just getting use to when the babies come home!!! Sorry for rambling on, but I will let you's know whats happening as soon as I get a chance.. Take care and talk soon xoxo

Hi! Its Michelle- my name was already taken as username...what a shocker! LOL
Vicky- I'm so glad they found a membrane. I agree with Candice, i think all of us that have posted on this thread were misdiagnosed. I remember what a huge relief it was when they found the membrane with my boys!
cb- I don't know if you'll see this before you have your babies, but good luck! I'm so excited for you and glad you made it this far.
Candice, the girls sound like they are doing really well! How fun that they are rolling over and becoming so interactive.
My boys are 12 weeks old! They are still not so interactive yet...they have both smiled a few times, but nothing more interactive than that and staring into my eyes (which melts my heart). They are doing very well considering how early they were. They are gaining weight nicely- wish I could convert to the metrics for cb, but Spencer is 8lbs 4oz, and Corbin is 8lbs 15oz! A long way from the 3.6 and 3.7 they were!
