I used Clomid, no trigger shot. Also did Metformin and Robitussin.

Clomid for PCOS. Trigger shot for 1st pregnancy (singleton - miscarried), no trigger for 2nd - resulting in triplets. HCG used for defect in late ovulation.

I was on heparin, pergonal and HCG shot. With pergonal the mature, but the actual eggs won't ovulate unless you have a trigger shot.

i was on clomid. but i was on clomid for my other 4 kids and they were not twins.. i guess just lucky this time.

I had Clomid + IUI, no trigger shot.

tripletmom, do you think the trigger shot had anything to do with your miscarriage? I just had a miscarriage, i was on Clomid 150mg days 3-9 and then received the trigger shot. I miscarried at 4 weeks exactly. Do you think there is a possibility that had anything to do with it?

I am sorry to hear that Blf.... I miscarried at 10 weeks and my OB said that is was probably chromosomal abnormalities because the yolk was a lot bigger than the fetal pole, etc. I never thought about if the HCG was a factor, but I know plenty of women who had successful pregnancies who were also given the trigger shot. Are you going to try again? I know it is difficult - I believe miscarriages that early are nature's way of intervening when something is not quite right - NOT THAT IT MAKES IT ANY EASIER.. I will never forget my miscarriages and often think how old my baby would be now, etc.

Yes we are going to continue trying again. Im not sure how many of these we can go thru so if it continues to happen we might take a break for awhile.

I will see my docter on the 11th of Sept. about getting the shot. I have been on clomid now for 9 months .... my previous doc. said that I should take it for 12 months before changing to anything else or adding to it.. My time clock is ticking and honestly that is why I swithched docs. I dont want to loose out because a doc.. doent like to try anything else with the clomid or aside from it. I hope that more of you multiple moms out there continue on with this thread. Lots of good support through it.

Shey, clomid for 12 months???? I have always read that it shouldn't be taken for more than 6 continuous months (someone please correct me if I'm wrong) Maybe you should get a second opinion from a different doctor.

freebird - August 28

oops, sorry. Didn't see that you had switched docs already.

Thanks for your concern. It is much appreciated and yes I am set up to see a new doc on the 11th of Sept. I to have read that you shouldnt take it past 6 months... that is why I am feeling a little nearvous about all of this 12 month thing and again why I have chooseing to see someone new. God is good and I am sure that things will work out I just wish I knew all the ins and outs about all of this you know. From what I have been reading though women who dont get PG on the clomid alone go to the next step with HCG trigger and clomid and so on from there. This is what I will talk about with this doc. I am supposing that this doc will also do ultrasounds to make sure that my follicle growth is good as well. My previous doc. never did this. I was just having to write down my temps and so on each month on a chart for him. After reading about many women getting this ultrasounds done I think I should be as well. Thanks again for your concern and I hope that your TTC days are great for you.

Shey, I hope everything works out for you with the new doctor. Question: have you had an HSG test done? This is a test to look for blocked tubes if you haven't had it. Also, you should ask your new doc about getting your partner tested if that hasn't been done. There are lots of issues that people can have that make TTC difficult. I hate that so many docs routinely prescribe clomid without checking everything first and then don't bother to monitor with u/s. My RE put me and my DH through a battery of tests before starting any treatment at all. It took more time and effort at the beginning, but we conceived on our very first IUI because it was the most appropriate treatment for us.

I havent reread my posts so I am not sure if I already said this or not, but I do have a short lutheal phase ... would the trigger shot or clomid or both even be of use with this problem..? I am just starting to feel a little worn and torn emotionaly lately with all of the wanting and TTCing... I really do enjoy hearing all of the stories on here though of those that have had success and the METHODS that have been used for it... there are some interesting life lea__sons out there with these success as well. Keep them coming.

I received the HCG trigger shot this past Monday afternoon. I should have O by now... I have bd every day two days before the shot and every day there after. I was on 150 mg of clomid and had an interv____al U/S done that showed 2 lead follis with at least 3 others that were around 12-15 range in size. I am not at all sure how the HCG trigger affects those ones... I know that it is suppose to help the lead follies that were 20+ in size to pop off, but my question is what about the others that were not far behind in size? Does anyone know if those will pop off as well? Also when should I begin testing for a BFP???

I moved from Clomid to Femara. I didn't have to use the trigger shot because I surged on my own.
