hello all. i have been taking clomid for 6 cycles.....and nothing. i think part of the problem is my husband travels a lot. i went to the doctors yesterday and she told me to go to a fertility specialist. i have been experiencing cramping in my lower right side. has anyone else experineced this? i am 31 and have been trying for over a year. i .am on 100/clomid days 3-7. please some advice....anyone.

Hey KT- good luck to you too. Taylor- this month I had horrible constant cramping for 3-4 days. It just subsided today. I was hoping maybe my body was preparing for a baby, but I guess not. My Doc says that cramping is very normal on Clomid, some women experience more intense cramping . Mine were the abdomen and througout my upper thighs, sometimes my calves too. Hope it gets better for you. Good Luck!

taylor - my husband was tested a couple weeks ago and aside from being humilated, it only took a couple days for results. however, as much as i have been going through - it was not that big of a deal and he was fine.

leslie- thanks for easing my mind a bit. i'm ovulating now (or that's what the kit tells me). it is really frustrating, not to mention exhausting:) i'm hoping we can do this alone w/o getting in to major fertility treatment. anyway, good luck to everyone who is trying as hard as i am.

This is my 2nd month using the Clomid, and hopefully in a few days I will know if this time took or not. I have had some sharp pains in my abdomin, but I think it is all normal. Just keeping my fingers crossed. congrats.

Taylor - My husband got tested before I did anything. That's so easy to do. Why go thru everything we are going thru (Clomid, progesterone, HSG, etc) if there may be a problem with him. My gyno suggested a urologist. The test came back with low counts in every category. The doc suggested surgery to "try" and increase his count, morph, motility. Then we went to a fertility specialist, at the recommendation of my friend who works for one. I knew I wasn't ovulating most of the time. The fert. doc wouldn't take my husbands test results as a for sure thing. He wanted to do another test there. His sperm would never leave their office. They have more experience what they're looking at, etc. That test came back with everything in normal ranges. So my advice is go to someone who does this and only this (i.e. fertility doc). And he should test twice. His results can vary depending on alot of things.

Kelly - I'm so surprised your dr didn't send you for an HSG before starting clomid and whatever else. That's the 1st thing my dr sent me for. Because if your tubes are blocked then clomid isn't going to do much for you. See my post on 8/11 about what happened to a friend of mine. Good Luck!

I have read most of the entries in this and I am touched by all the different stories. I just started my first round of clomid(days 5-9). I have had lots of tests completed and my obgyn is puzzled because there is nothing visibly wrong however I have not ovulated on my own in almost a yr. She put me on provera in hopes that it would trick my body into a cycle but after 6m. still no ovulation. So I have started clomid in hopes to start ovulating. As much as I would love to have another child my biggest concern right now is to be a normal woman. (I am 27) Does anyone know anyone that just dosen't ovulate?

brandy - i do know someone who does not ovulate unless she is on medication. with her first child clomid worked and with the second she was on another medication. she never has a period unless she is on something to make her ovulate and only goes on meds when she is trying to get pregnant. it worked for her both times. good luck. i go for my hsg test on friday. i am kinda freaking out. i want to know but it's immediate results and i'm just nervous.

Thank you Leslie, that gives me some hope that there isn't something crazy wrong with me and the docs just aren't finding it. What my obgyn said is "I can't run anymore test, there is nothing else to test, by test results there is nothing wrong." But she does agree that it is odd and wishes that she could give me more answers. Does your friend have any idea why she does not ovulate on her own?

Brandy, I have PCOS and never ovulate on my own. I always have to take meds. to make have a period (i.e. birth control) or ovulate (clomid and glucophage). I have concieved 3 times using Clomid. The first was a single girl, the second ended in a miscarriage, but now I am currently 33 weeks pregnant with boy/girl twins. Has your Dr. mentioned the possiblity of having PCOS?

My dr has checked me for everything. She took 8 large tubes of blood, I have had an external and internal ultrasound, and I have had that procedure where they stick the little camera thing in through your belly b___ton (whatever that does) anyhow after all the results were in my dr said "I have good news and bad news, there is nothing wrong and there is something wrong" She then explained that everything looked great no cysts/polyps/blockages--nothing. The lab work on my blood was all normal (with exception of estrogen was a little low). She says I have great looking female organs. The bad news was with everything being normal, she couldn't figure out why I am not ovulating. For the mean time I chalk up to stress. I worked in a very stressful environment up until last November (when I quit because of my test results) I work in a much better place now and I make more money too so all in all the stress level has gotten better. Anyone with any suggestions, please tell!! Melisa, congrats on the twins! and Leslie, hope your test goes well.

A couple of weeks ago I found out that I was pregnant after using clomid. I had a C-section with my first child (this probably makes me paranoid). Every time I move too quickly I get a sharp stabbing pain around my scar. Do you think that my uterus never fully recovered and it's super sensitive or just it's normal pregnancy twangs? Also how far along do you have to be when they find out if you are going to have twins? I have so many questions for the doctor when I see him.

Kelly - August 15

Chris- Hello, I'm not sure why my Dr. didn't send for this test to begin with. I did get pregnant about 4 years ago and I was ovulating on my own, but not every month. We are scheduling the HSG test today. Good luck to all!
