My doctor will not give me the Shot or at least has not said anything. I started using the OPK yesterday and have not had a spike. I read that you "O" early with Clomid, as early as CD12. I am on CD12 now. If I dont get a spike by day 17 I am calling my doctor for the shot. I hope I dont have to tough. My will have to pay out of pocket for it.

I am 5'3 and 184 pounds. Would you try to get down to atleast 150 beforee ttc if it was you? I cant hardly stand to wait. Are you also getting the trigger shot? I was planning on getting unprescribed clomid becaues I dont want anyone knowing what I am doing and I dont know if I could find a doctor to give me a prescription. Do you know if the shot with clomid incresses your chances for twins? What do you think would be the chances of having twins for a women that conceives naturally? I have researched online but I cant find anyone that ttc twins with clomid that didnt really need it.

I want to ttc twins with clomid. I am on the birth control pill now and was wondering if I should stop for a few monthes before taking clomid or should I keep taking the pill and when I am ready to ttc take clomid on days 3-7 then stop the birth control. With my 2 kids they were both conceived the first month of birth control. Is their anyone on here that is pregnant with twins that didnt need clomid but took it to get pregnant with twins?

Losing weight is your choice. I am 5 foot even and weigh (ugh!) 173. I heard using clomid with a "O"ing problem is 10%. Although a friend of mine sayis its more like 20-30% (she works Ob at the Ohio State Medical center) I would have to say that usining when you dont need it must be higher. I dont really think I need clomid because I always start with in a the 13-15 every month. If you dont mind me asking why do you want to lose weight before you get prego?

crystal - I would try to get down to 150 first. It will be healthier for you and the baby(ies). My dh is deployed so I have to wait until July, but I plan on trying to lose a little weight before we start TTC. I wanted clomid so I told my OB that I have irregular cycles. (I exaggerated a little. I said they were 40-45 days) From what I have heard, it is fairly easy to get most OB's rx clomid. My OB will probably start me at 50mg (thats normal) and she will give me an u/s on cd14 to check and see if I have any matured eggs. If I do, then she will give me the trigger shot which will make me O in 12-48 hours. The shot does not affect rather or not you have twins, it just makes you O the mature eggs that you have. However, i do have u/p clomid that I also plan on taking because i want to start at 100mg and I know that my OB will not let me start that high. I am excited because when i get my u/s I will instantly know if I have a chance of having twins. If i only have 1 egg ready then i know that I dont have a chance. Clomid increases your chances of multiple by 7.98%. If I were you i would just ask your doc. it is easy to get.

SoReady- Just wondering what will you do if you have 1 egg? Or 3?

mzwest - I was under the impression that clomid would push back O. I think that a lot of people O around cd 18. I dont know how much the shot would cost but if your doc will give you an u/s then at least you will know (if or how many) mature eggs you have. Then decide rather or not the shot is worth the money. There are lots of women in here whos OB's never said anything about the trigger shot. Sometimes you have to make the effort and let the docs know what you want.

crystal - I too conceive the first month that I was off birth control. I wouldnt wait if I were you. When women come off bc, sometimes there bodies hyper-O so I would take clomid right away! I am not a doctor so before you do that ask one or at least do some research!

If the u/s only showed 1 egg, it would be ard but I probably would not try that month. I want twins so if I have 2 or more I will try like heck that month!

hey everyone! i took u/p clomid and am pregnant with twins {yay} my dh knew i was taking clomid but i told him it was to decrease the chances of a m/c i did eventualy say it highers your chances of twins but not like at all really and he agreed to ttc again :] but when he found out it was twins he was so so so happy and when the doctor ashed if i took anything to increase my chances my dh said "she eats yams like no other!" lol it was nice of him to be on my side! so i do think all the me who are scared to have more kids really just need to see an u/s and normaly everything will play out which i hope it does for all of you!!! today i find out the s_xes of the twins! im so excited i think it will be b/g but i have a feeling it will be g/g but we shall see in 3 hours!!!!!! baby dust!

Hello all. May I join you here? I've been looking for the right thread to make an entrance but didn't want to intrude. I've read so much and you all have had overwhelming experiences, I really am in awe! As for me, my husband already has three boys that are 15, 14, and 11, but he and I would like a child together. The boys live in another town with their mother, and my husband and I are concerned about the age gap that would exist between the boys and the child we would like to have, so ideally we would like to have two children together so they won't be lonely. We waited six years before trying to get pregnant(long story) and now I'm at an age and point in my life that I need to do it now before it's absolutely too late. My husband is up for whatever number and I guess I'm lucky in that regard. I have my Clomid and am just waiting for AF. I'm both excited and nervous at the same time. Anyway, thanks for the outlet, and baby dust to you all!

jusdee - what did you find out about the twins? Did you get 2 girls? Can you answer some questions for me? How many cycles did you use clomid? Did you have regular cycles? What dosage did you take and on what days?

i used clomid for only 1 cycle, i dont think i have had a regular cyle it has always been extreamly off like anywhere from 17-42 days apart. i took 100 mg days 3-7 i took 1 100 mg on cd1 just for a extra boost ya know? lol im on my way to the doctors so i will let you know :] im so excited!!

Hey suburd - We are always happy for others to share in our joys, sadness and craziness. It is great that you dh is willing to have multiples. Are you going to take rx or u/p clomid? What dosage and days are you going to take it? Honestly, I dont think that the age difference is going to be a big deal. Have yall talked to the kids about the idea of yall having a baby? If so what do they think? My thoughts are, being that they are so far apart in age maybe they will be a little more understanding and excepting then if they were 7, 8 & 9. How often do yall see your step kids? If it is not that often then it probably wont affect them very much. Good Luck! Baby Dust to All!!!!

I will start ttc as soon as I stop taking birth control(the very first month) I think this might even incress my chances for twins even more.
