When Did You Start Measuring Big

I went in for my first OB appt. yesterday at exactly 6 wks according to my LMP. The dr. seems to think I am farther along than I am, but I am positive on my dates. She said my uterus is already enlarged and feels like 8 weeks. I go in for an ultrasound in a couple of weeks, but I was just curious if anyone w/ twins started measuring big right away? And if you were, how big? Twins do run in my family and I have felt more tired this time than my other pregnancies so it has gotten me wondering.

I didn't start measuring bigger than my actual week until after 16 weeks. At 18 weeks I "popped" , but until then I was right on target with a normal pregnancy

I wouldn't worry. I measured double my weeks through the whole first trimester. The doctor was sure it was twins but I gave birth to one big, healthy girl. It could have been a vanished twin but I think more likely I just got bigger faster than most women. GL.

That is the other weird thing, I always measured small w/ my first two kids and they were really small babies. Waiting for my u/s is going to drive me nuts.

Most twin pregnancies don't start measuring larger until the second trimester. I didn't start measuring larger until week 16 and almost over night, I measured 6-8 weeks ahead.

Just wanted to update, I had my ultrasound and there is only one baby. Measuring right on schedule too. : ) I guess my body was just getting ahead of itself w/ this being my third baby.

Actually, I went for my first doctors visit at 8 weeks. The doctor felt my belly and said I have an enlarged uterus. He proceeded with ultrasound and voila! Twins!

bllcy, thanks for asking this I was just about to ask this same question. I had 5 mature follicles and got my BFP at about 10 dpo and when I went in for my first appt I measured 6 weeks which is what I am. I thought perhaps it would be just one but now I see there is still a chance it could be more. Either way we will be happy, just surprised that out of 5 only one would implant. Ultrasound on Nov 7th. I am very excited.
