Hello there Lisa!! I have 4 year twins too!! and I am also about six weeks along again!! I think I may be having another set....fluttering in the belly already, extrememly tired!..and my belly is lopsided again already!! I have them in my family, and I am 30 so my chance are good. My twins are also 4 years old...(must have been a busy year!)my second pregnancy (which ended early, sorry to say) and my third (healthy baby boy) were both single pregnancies. I think you are twice as likely to have twins the second time, but that's still only like 1 in 50. Were your twins identical or fraternal?

Hello! To answer you question, if my twins were fraternal, I had a girl and a boy. They both were a month early and she weighed 6 lbs and 10 oz. and he weighted 6 lbs 11oz. They were big babies. I had an ultra sound and it indicated that there was only one baby in there, but there are people that told me that the were chances that there could be another baby hiding in there back to back. I have two other children and they both were single pregnancies. My oldest is 10, then I lost two after I had her and then I had another baby and almost lost her too, but she is with us today and is 7 yrs old, then I waited three years later to have more and that's when I did find out that I was pregnant with twins. But they don't run in my family and I have checked my family history and there is nothing on it. But I was the lucky one and I look at it like this that God blesses me with two at one time since I lost two. The other thing that I have to watch is my health condition, I was diagnosed 3 years ago with ulcerative colitis and it affects my large intestine and colon. But I talked to my dr and he said that it was a good thing and that it will be in remission while I was pregnant. Its that after birth that we won't be sure of. But as of right now my health has been very good. I have been out of the hospital for the past year. I wanted to thank you for lett ing me know that it wasn't just me out there who has twins at the same age mine are. Thank you for responding back to my question also.

my great grandmother had 4 sets of twins

I have been wondering about this as well. I have 15 month old identical twins, but fraternal twins run in my family. I had my tubes tied after my girls, but I have been experiencing pregnancy symptoms lately. Getting a test tonight to make sure. I figured with my luck, it would be twins again lol

I don't know the answer, but I would like to find out too. I have a 3 year old boy, identical twin girls that are one; and I am 5 weeks pregnant. I am constantly tired and looking bigger than I should. What are the odds? Please, let us know too.

Lisa, barring the use of fertility drugs, which increase the chances of multiples significantly, the chances of having a second set of identical twins is about one in 70,000 (according to the national organization of mothers of twins website). However fraternal twins may be different. Apparently overweight and / or taller than average moms have an increased chance of having fraternal (non identical) twins. Age over 35 also increases this risk. Hope this helps. Good luck

Hello, I had the same question,before i found the answere. I have 2yr old fraternal twin girls, I was pregnant when they were about 15months old, I went to the doctor and was told that the new pregnancy would be due the same time the girls were due OCT 8 for 2002, well i found out that i was pregnant with TWIN boys, this time I had the first set sept 18 2002 (not october 8th) and had my twin boys sept 23 2004 (again not OCT 8th.) both sets are fraternal, So there will be not christmas in december. After what september will do to me, I will need time to financially recover. LOL I have a fraternal twin also. It was hard haveing 2 twin pregnancy in 2 years, but everyone is okay. I beleive that I drop 2 eggs on certain months, but im not sure as these are my only 2 and last pregnacies. I have been sterlized as it may kill me or babies if i got pregnants again. Like i would try. I used to call myself MAMADOS now its QUADMAMA (cute). Congrats to all mothers of multiples.

When my twins were born, the doctor told me that I was 4 times more likely to have twins again than the average mother who had never had twins. It is definately possible.

is there a chance that i will have twins on the third pregancy? i really want twins but i dont know if that would be possible

Hiya, yes it could happen again. I have 8 yr old twin girls and am currently 26 wks with twin boys (both natural). This will be the sixth set on my side. My sister also has 11 yr old twins. My hubby also has identical twin brothers. I guess it is in the genes. I found out at 6 weeks I was carrying twins. I felt movement at 3 months also. Unfortunately both pregnancies I had/am having complications and found out that early. Good luck to you
