Feeling Stupid And Seeking Reassurance

Quick question to the experts :-) So, I'm 5 weeks along with my third. I try to be moderate in my exercise, careful with diet, and cautious about lifting my kids more than necessary. That said, I WASN'T thinking today when a toy got shoved behind our TV armoire and I pushed that piece of furniture out of the way (just a few inches really) to get it. Of course, like a fool, I was then saying to myself the whole morning, "Why did I do that???? What was I thinking????" I've always read m/c is usually chemically or hormonally related, and I've never had one before. Obviously, I learned my lesson and will be more careful, but I'm also the queen of paranoia. Should I be very concerned I did something bad to the baby? Thanks, ladies!

This post is a few days old but I will reply anyways. If you don't have any pain anywhere I am sure things are just fine. The risk with lifting or pushing something hard in pregnancy is to maybe tear something and believe me you would feel lots of pain if that happened. Also watch for spotting that would be another red flag but if you didn't experience any of that then I am sure no harm was done. You can lift a little weight when pregnant just don't over do it.

You know they say now that really lifting and stuff isn't so bad. You can get a placental abruption but it's pretty rare. And at 5 weeks your placenta isn't really developed anyway, so don't beat yourself up about it. Women do all kinds of crazy stuff not knowing that they're pregnant and go on to have totally normal babies. You don't have to stop having a life because you're pregnant. It'll be okay.

Did I miss something in your post...? Why at 5 weeks or at any point of your pregnancy PUSHing a heavy piece of furniture harm your fetus...? My gosh, relax and enjoy your pregnancy!
