hiya, tried to write last night but got booted off....we had a busy holiday weekend with family functions each day...then on christmas when we were up at my folks house Mack's cord fell off and it looked gooey and smelled so we took her to the emergancy room to make sure everything was ok...they had to caturized (sp?) the last little bit and we just have to keep cleaning it with alcohol...but boy is she getting fussy...I can only put her down for about 5 minutes at a time...right now she's sleeping on my chest so I can get some work done...it's funny because she is so good when we are out, but when we are at home she is a fussy little miss...good news is she was weighed at the hospital and she was 6p 13 oz...she gained 10 oz in a week...what a piglet, so dr should be happy tomorrow he wanted her back at least back at her birth weight of 6.9 oz.....Michele dh and I are joining ww online too...starting 1st of January...I've lost 17 pounds so far but I still have another 20 pounds left...and I hate the jelly belly...I've always had flat abs and been pretty small so it's hard to be still in maternity clothes and barely fitting into my "fat" pants...I know I need to be patient as I just had a baby 2 weeks ago, but it's depressing....ww is great though, and I did it before and lost weight...it was so easy and you don't feel like your dieting...Kristine wow 21 weeks mat leave...that is amazing....is that over 5 months? I'm going back to work 3 days a week January 8th when Mackenzie is only a month old...I feel bad but I have too...and I'm already popping into the office and working from home (but it's keeping me sane)...also if they didn't call you back about the test (at least at my office) means everything was ok...but if you took it thursday and the holiday weekend and all did they tell you when they would have called ? having gained only 20 pounds is great for where your at....okie, back to work....

Gosh, has it been two weeks for Mackenzie? Where does the time go? Yes about 5 months. I'm using my saved paid sick and vacation time. Heck I figure, this only comes once in a lifetime and work can wait as long as teeh paycheck keeps coming in. I'll be back full time in September. Yuk! Are you both b___stfeeding?

Hi ya girls! I am at a clients with Alex and she is fussing big time today… kinda embarra__sing! But no one is here at the moment, thank goodness!! ••••• EJOLA: Alex had her belly b___ton cauterized also by the pediatrician because it was slightly bleeding still when her cord fell off. Also I was flabbergasted that Alex was weighing in at 8 lbs, 12 oz as of the 19th… I am sure she is over 9 pounds now… however 0-3 month clothes are still too big for her and she is still wearing her premie clothes. Alex is very lanky, so I think that is why she doesn’t fit in the normal 0-3 month clothes. ••••• KRISTINE: I called my OBGYN’s office to get my results the second time around… but the first time when I failed --- the office didn’t have the results until the day of my appointment because the lab forgot to send the results over. AND that is soooo cool that you get 5 months off. However, you know you’ll be spoiled and not want to go back to work after all that time off!! Welp gotta get going… need to stop at Wal-mart on my way home to pick up some nursing pads… almost out and the ones I had on today are soaked through… I need to get the Heavy flow ones! Ciao for now.

Hi girls, Happy New Year....life is pretty busy at the moment...still trying to figure things out around the house with Mackenzie, and I start back to work 3 days a week on Monday...part of me is sad but i'm also glad to be getting back into the world a bit...I will work from home 2 days a week so it's a slow transition...tomorrow I'm going to meet the care giver...she comes highly recommended and my nephew has been going to her for a year...she only takes 4 children at a time so I'm lucky she can take Mack...she will only have her 2 days a week as my mil will have her on mondays...so we'll see how it goes...Michele I hear you with the b___by pads...although i'm still supplimenting Mack when she makes the slightest sound my milk drops...I soak those pads...lol....Kristine have you started registering yet? How exciting it's 2007 the year of your baby !!!! Big Hugs girls..

Happy New Year! Yes we registered Saturday at Babies R Us. We have not found a crib we both like yet or bedding. Dh is an artist so he will be desiging the wall so I want the bedding to be more plain. There was a snag with my shower invites and they haven't arrived yet. They are supposed to be here this week. My mom keeps telling me not to worry but the shower reply date is the 14th.

Hi again, Sorry to keep complaining but the invites didn't arrive yesterday either. The company where she ordered them online from has not returned calls (you can't get a live person. You have to leave a message). I've sent two emails and nothing. Their website raves of their excellent customer service. Bull! What would you do? My mom is ready to go out and buy invites and write them all out by hand. I know you two must have your hands full but I needed to vent. Hope all is well.

Do you have a membership to Costco? I can design some invitations for you and have them printed as 4x6 pictures at your Costco. I am in the middle of designing my birthday cards and will be uploading them to Costco so they will be ready for pickup soon. Let me know. A friend in need is a friend in deed... as the saying goes and I am willing to help you out.

Thanks so much Michelle BUT they arrived yesterday and my mom mailed them out today. I am so relieved!!!

Hey Michele, when is your birthday? Today I started back at work...my b___bs hurt so bad...I pumped during lunch but I think I may need to pump more frequently it just stinks b/c I'm supposed to sterilze it after each use (we bought a microwave serilizer but still) and I work in almost an entirely male office...so my boss has thrown me back in on the deep end..oh well....can't wait to go home and see my munchkin...so glad your invites came Kristine, I was going to offer to write the company a letter on our legal letterhead (it's amazing the reaction you get from that..lol)...toodles,

Kristine: Iam si glad to read that your invitations came. Kinda sucks that they took so long though. When is your baby shower? So exciting!!! Don't be afraid to ask for the "BIG STUFF." If it were for family members buying the big stuff on the list, Josh and I would have been broke trying to buy the crib, jogging-stroller, car seat, etc. ••••• COOKIE: My birthday is February 11th... I will be the big 34 ! As for the wall shart... that is too gross and funny at the same time. Alex did the same thing, but my hand was in the way and ended up being covered. Can you believe the company sent me an email FOUR DAYS LATER saying their web server was down. I shot them back an email saying they should have had a message on their site indicating that and also a message on the phone system. I think they are full of baloney. But I'll let it go. Everyone got the invite on Saturday so it gives them three weeks notice. The shower is the 28th. Gosh so much to do!!! DH has been hired to do a mural for a local new coffee shop and that has to take priority. He hopes to be finished this week. -----------I tend to keep adding things to the registry online as I think of more. It's overwhelming when you are in the store. Have a great day!!!

Hi girls, so we had Mack's pics taken last night...have a look (you'll see our announcement too) go to sadiesonline and put . com after that (put w w w in front of that)...then click on coral springs...and my name ejola cook...the pa__sword is cook...let me know what you think :-)...while we were trying to take the photos dd first pooped all over my dh and the back drop (too funny)...when we had her all cleaned up she then peed on him....she is such a ham....Michele, I don't think I really make enough milk for Mack as she is supplemented with Formula (also b/c of jaundice)...so I think I produce less already...dr told me that even if she gets some b___st milk its better than none....but I still feel bad about it...how is ww going? I didn't lose any weight last week...I think I may to non nursing points as Mack is only really getting b___st milk at night and first thing in the morning (other than 1 pumping during the day)...

COOKIE, I don't see where you click on Coral Springs from the main page....???

Oh, they are just like Anne Geddes! How adorable. I hope there's a place like that around here. Sorry to hear about your nursing woes. I guess everyone is different and you don't know how it will work out until you try. I plan to nurse but we'll see how it goes. --------------------Michelle, I love the photo of you two with the mountains behind you. Is that your hometown? How beautiful! AND, Alex looks just like you.

KRISTINE: Yes that is where I live. I has snowed all day today... our REAL BIG snow storm of the season. Really odd that it is already January. So no more mud/snow --- just snow. So if I go hiking -- I will have to take out my snowshoes and put Alex in the baby bijour (I have the Jeep brand though -- a lot cheaper). ••••• COOKIE: I really love the mail box picture!!! That would have been a perfect picture for Alex since DH is a postmaster. I always say Alex is the postman's love child! And DH says it better not be the Milkman's! LOL! Sorry to read about your milk production. Maybe you should pump more to stimulate production. How long do you normally pump? I can get about on average 2 ounces from a 5 minute pump on one b___st... if I am really engorged I can get like 4 ounces out of one b___st. But some days I am dry --- and get like an ounce. So it all depends. Are you drinking enough water? I have the biggest problem trying to drink enough... I can go hours without having a gla__s. I just don't want to do formula. I had to do 50/50 when Alex was a week old. I had to feed her formula one feeding and b___st milk the next for a week when she had her bad case of jaundice. Her poop stank from the formula. I decided right then and there --- the smell alone was a good reason not to give her formula. Anyhow, I have been solely b___stfeeding since she has been 2 weeks old. It is irrating sometimes how she needs to be feed every 3 hours. And if I was doing formula it would have kept her fuller longer... but there are so many good things in b___stfeeding that I am just going with it and will see how long I do it for.
