Good morning ladies, I had my first family gathering yesterday with those I don't see often. It was nice for them to congratulate me and pat my belly. It is still hard to accept that I've come this far. The nice thing is my cousin's wife is 7 weeks ahead of me and we've gotten closer so I have someone in the family to go through this with. It just seems like ym due date is so far away.

Hiya, Kristine are you about 14 weeks now? Are you showing at all yet? I remember at 14 weeks my pants were starting to get tight on me..lol...as for me, I think Mackenzie is hitting another growth spurt I'm starting to feel huge now..and all I want is chocolate chip icecream (but I've been good just keeping it to once or twice a week) ....and lots of heartburn...yuck...

Yep, I'll be 15 on Friday. Well that makes me feel good about you at this time. I think I should be bigger than I am! I want the big bump. lol I'm in maternity but some of my old pants, I can wear with the zipper down and a long shirt. Hard on the budget though. My work is somewhat dressy (not necessarily suits), it's like I need a new wardrobe. The heartburn comes and goes but the morning sickness has subsided. I still have some bouts of nausea but not like the beginning. DH's cousin's wife is due tomorrow and as of last Thursday was 1cm for over a week. They said they will induce this weekend. Michelle, how's it going?

Hi ya Kristine.... I did my 3-hour glucose test today. Went fairly well except I was poked 5 times instead of 4 since my left arm just didn't want to produce any blood the 2nd time around. So they had to draw blood 3 times out of my right arm and once out of my left arm. Lets just say I hope I don't have to see any needles for a long while. I will keep you updated when I get my test results back.

Hi girls --- just popping in really quick today. I have to work all week in Carson City today so I will be busy until I get home. Welp just wanted to let you know that I got my Gestational Diabetes test results back today.... My fasting was: 74 and it had to be under 95. My one hour blood draw after drinking the 100g Glucose drink was 171 and had to be under 190. My two hour blood draw after drinking the 100g Glucose drink was 121 and had to be under 155. My three hour blood draw after drinking the 100g Glucose drink was 85 and had to be under 140. So it looks like my blood was stabalizing and going back to normal after 3 hours... so that is very good according to the nurse that I spoke with!!! I am soooooo happy that I don't have GD!!!! Hope everyone is doing well.

COOKIE: If I don't write in tonight, good luck with your GD test tomorrow!

NVgirl - October 4

COOKIE: Also, drink water in between your blood draws. It helps flush the bad glucose out of your system which helps stabilize (sp) your blood sugar, because being dehydrated will make things worse. GOOD LUCK!

I'm so mad today, I went to my flippin appt...at 7:15 this morning...and the stupid women (who were sooooo apathetic)...could not locate my paperwork...and since my dr's office was closed till 9 there was nothing I could do so I had to leave...and they wouldn't even let me make another appt in their office, I had to call to set it up!?!?! when I finally called my dr's office they said everything was already sent...and were going to call quest and complain...now I have to change my how sch. around to go tomorrow instead...blah...i'm so tired now, but at least I can hopefully knock out some work today....also I gained 3 pounds this week...what the heck....I had only gained a pound the past three weeks so I guess I'm making up ...I know i've finally "popped" where i'm suddenly looking pretty pregnant (still no 7 1/2 months but now people are guessing at least 6 and not 4)....sorry had to vent having a miserable day.... :-(

Oh Cookie, that rots!!! I don't know how these places screw up. Happened to me when I had to do a fasting blood for my m/c workup. I fasted from midnight, showed up at the docs and the darn phlebotomist was out with no replacement. I had to drive another 15 minutes to another lab to wait another 20 minutes. Needless to say I was famished by the time I got to work. When you go tomorrow, I hope you say something sarcastic to them for being so incompetent. lol---------MICHELLE, great news for you,,, hooray. My cousin's wife is very upset over a comment that was made by her OB about her weight. She was 125 prepregnancy, very pet_te girl, probably a size 4. At her 8 week appt, she weighed 130. Now at 22 weeks, she weighs 150 but does not look very big. Doc says she's overweight.

••••• COOKIE: So sorry to read about your FUN experience at the lab. And I thought getting poked an extra time was bad. You win the pin cushion award, sorry. Did they tell you when you should get your test results back? I can't beleive they let you leave the lab. They said I had to stay in the office for the full 3 hours. Interesting how labs differ from one another ••••• KRISTINE: You are 15 weeks today? Everything going well for you? Have you told the family yet? Did your OBGYN set you up for an ultrasound in the next 4-weeks so you can find out the s_x of the baby??? You gotta let us know. Welp got to get back to work. Toodles for now.

I had today off. A bit of a bummer on my other thread. One of the girls has had 3 m/c's and is pregnant again. She had a 6 week u/s last week and no hb. She has a repeat u/s tomorrow. Brought me right back to where I was those past three times. It is just so very sad an dthw waiit is horrible.------------------------------ On a lighter note, DH's cousin's wife had her baby this weekend. she was 40 weeks and had to be induced. As I held the baby, I thought to my future and I am so happy. I'll be 16 weeks this Friday and in two weeks we have the anatomy u/s but we aren't finding out ! :-)

Hiya, well at least I don't have to be a human pin cushion anymore...I pa__sed my 3 hr test...fasting I was at 73 with a cut off at 95, first hour I was at 105 cut off was 190, 2nd hour 106 with a cut off of 165, and my last hour I was at 86 with a cut off at 145....yeah....well gotta dash...have my Last March of Dimes meeting before our Food and Wine Extravagenza next week...we are trying to raise over 60 thousand dollars this year with our event...should be fun, we have one of the Miami Dolphin players as our celebrity Chairman...

NVgirl - October 10

Hi ya girls. KRISTINE: I can't believe you don't want to know the s_x. WOW! is all I can say. ••••• COOKIE: Glad you pa__sed you 3-hr. Looks like our fasting and 3hr blood draws were similar, but my 1 & 2 hrs were a lot higher than yours. But nonetheless we both pa__sed. ••••• I had my 2 week obgyn appointment today. Was there maybe 10 minutes. They took my pressure, weight, measured my belly and listened to the heartbeat and then sent me on my way. Since I am 31w3d I asked if I would be having any u/s to see how big the baby is. The doc said no -- that is why we measure your belly. If you measured ahead of schedule of below normal we'd send you for an u/s... but since I am on time she said she has no reason to u/s me. It is a bummer because I haven't had an u/s since July. Maybe I'll just have to go out on my own and get one done for peace of mind. Kinda sucks! Anyhow, Hope all is well on your guys side of things. Toodles for now.

I just had the most fantastic news...my best friend...who has been actively trying since February (although I know they have been "letting things happen" for the past few years..)to get pregnant (and during which time 6 of our friends all got pregnant)..took two tests today and got positives!!! I told her to get her but into the dr's office if she wasn't sure and get some blood work done....i'm sooooooo excited...I felt so horrible to tell her I was pregnant....when she was trying so hard...yeah!!!! I was in tears...
