hi everyone, this is my first time. my husband and i have been having unprotected s_x for a month now. last period was 6 jan 09 for 5 days. ovulated 20th had unprotected s_x on the 22nd and now the last couple of days have been having brown spotting not much just when i go to the toilet and wipe. I am due for my regular cycle next friday - another thing is i have noticed my nipples are really dark but not sore, i feel tired and stomach feels abit crampy.. any suggestions would help heaps... thanks.

There could be many reasons as to why you are having brown discharge. For me it used to be just before my period was due. I just found out last Thursday that I am expecting...but a week before that I was supposed to get my period. I had the same brown discharge so I figured that it was my period coming again, unwanted. My b___sts also ached, but that didn't seem unusual for my period either. My entire "period" was only brown spotting. There was one day where there was just the tiniest amount of reddish, but besides that there wasn't much and it was the brown that you are talking about. A week after I thought I had my period, so last Thursday, my b___sts still hurt and they were strangely itchy, and I was still having the tiny amount of brown...I decided to take a pregnancy test and it was positive!!!!! To me it sounds like the same thing is happening to you that did to me, so it could be that you are showing the early sings of pregnancy. Although it is extremely frustrating because those symptoms are not unique to pregnancy. Wait until the day when your period should be due and see if you skip it. If so I would take a test. If it is negative, which it was for me, then wait a couple of days or so. And if your period has not arrived yet or you are still having brown discharge, then take another test. It is hard to wait I know, but just hang in there and be patient. I hope all works out for you! Best of luck!
