Nurse, nurse, and nurse some more! Offer the sore side first at every nursing to try and get the ducts flowing. Advil is safe for the pain. Hot showers. kellymom.com helped me a lot with info for my plugged duct. I hope you feel better soon!

I think I started getting it last week and it hurt like a b___h. I found that nursing the inflammed side first, heat, and ma__sage were very helpful and cleared everything up. If you can position the baby so his/her chin is against the hard inlammed area while nursing, that helps too. Hope it clears up soon.

Nurse constantly ma__sage the effected area. Drink extra amounts of water and stay away from all other liquids. If it is caused by a clogged duct apply heat and try to work it down and through the nipple. I've had some come out that looked like spaghetti. (I was told that it is ok for the baby to nurse it out, because it is just dehydrated milk.) It was such a relief after. And watch out for fever.
