Thyroid Medicine And Breastfeeding

Can you still br___tfeed while you are taking thyroid medicine? I'm 35 weeks and would like to br___tfeed but not sure if it is safe. Also, what about birth control, should I start birth control as soon as the baby is born? I don't have regular cycles unless on birth control.

i know alot of ladies who nurse while taking thyroid medication. Kellymom.com has a great list of what medications are safe for nursing moms. as for birth control, the mini pill is the most often perscribed. IUD's are also safe in most cases. the depo shot is one to avoid, it can throw off your hormones and dry you up.
