Baby OK But How To Wean Myself

My baby is officially on a bottle, sometimes pumped milk and sometimes formula. I have been pumping 6x per day and want to eventually slow down to "wean" myself. I have been OK doing this for a week, have not changed anything, but now suddenly have hard lumps and pain in one br___t, plus a soaked br___t pad. I am worried about plugged ducts and now am afraid to drop a daily pumping. Any advice?

Try cold packs on the bbs. My sil had to stop milk production and used frozen bags of peas inside her sports bra. It worked, although I don't think anything will make it a comfortable process. Good luck!

Just a suggestion, since I haven't done it myself... Maybe stretch the time between pumping rather than dropping a feeding. Like, add 30 mins longer to each one. Eventually, you'll lower the number of pumps in each day without going drastic.

Thanks for the tips. I just started taking The Pill again this week and have noticed that the volume I am able to pump is decreasing as well from that. So, it should start to really slow down for me now. I am not in a huge hurry to quit, but pumping exclusively has become tiresome. I had to take the baby off the b___st after almost 6 weeks of tortuous b___stfeeding, and now it's sort of a bittersweet turning point here. I didn't think I would be so sad about it now that am officially on the road to drying up my milk.
