mj does not become inactive in the b___stmilk or the baby that is a myth. It is just at a lower dose and still does affect the baby. As for the medications you took in the hospital. You did not have to take them. I refused all meds during my delivery. I never heard of a doctor offering percosets and codine to a laboring mother. You need a new doc.

last poster...you have no idea what you are talking about on anything in your post.....my doctor offered demerol WHILE i was pregnant, why would they not offer pain killers during labor? most doctors PUSH drugs on you during labor. much better for all involved to smoke a little herbage...

In response: Good for you on the natural child birth. You need to check out this website on the bottom here. Yes, TCH does pa__s into the b___stmilk. No, the amount is too small for the baby to catch a "buzz" from. The if or if nots about the "buzz" does not come into play. The question is "Is the small amount of THC in the b___stmilk bad for the total health and development of the infant. One study says YES from birth to 3 months. The same study says their have been no diffenerces in age higher then that. I encourage you to check out this website and research into the studies done before you make an uneducated statement. http://www.acmed.org/english/faq/20-b___stmilk.htm Not to sound rude but I just think everyone should base their judgments on facts, and not sterotypes of mj. :)

SURVEY - August 6

How many of you dope smoking beastfeeders are nursing you children so you can sell your government issued formula to support your habit? Concerned Tax Payer.

To survey - August 6

Great question. I would like to know also.

livsmomma - August 6

wtf are you talking about? first of all, if you're b___stfeeding you don't get any gov't issued formula. and secondly what makes you think that because someone smokes weed they are on welfare? the weed smokers i know are mostly all professionals, soccer moms, and middle to upper cla__s. get real.

mememom - August 6

Survey: LOL

Well I can't offer more than what these people already have but let me tell you something. When I was pregnant I had depression and was told I could take Celexa and the baby wouldn't get any of it. And I continued when I was b___stfeeding. Now they say it's dangerous during the last trimester of pregnancy and it's bad during b___stfeeding. So use your head here and get yourself cleaned up. Even if it doesn't do anything it's not worth the chance.

Government issued milk vouchers? I don't even know what that it, but obviously Survey and her buddy must. I pity your children to be raised by stupid women. I hope you are not raising girls because that would make it even worse.

To GG - August 10

Yes here in the United States (I suppose you aren't from here since you aren't aware of this) if you are below a certain income bracket, the government has a program called WIC which gives you 30 cans of formula a month or 9 powder containers of formula. A lot of women who are, excuse me for saying, trashy as hell either b___stfeed and sell these vouchers to people--or in the case of my trashy sister, gives her newborn cow's milk so she can sell the vouchers. Some people that need this programs I am so happy have them. But because this country is so focused on helping people, a lot of people abuse it and become parasites to all Americans, tax payer and underpriveleged persons alike.

No one is addicted to MJ. Speeding is illegal.

This has reached a very poignant frenzy, now directed at WIC and Government a__sistance recipients? What was the original query? It seems (survey) and her alikes may be interested in knowing that their precious tax dollars here in the good ole USA are much more foolishly wasted on projects of death...like nuclear weapons research and covert operations, (3.3 billion this year). Anger over what 'trailer trash' is selling baby formula seems rather nil. I have no answer to the original question, only a suggestion to all parties concerned. Wake up and do your own research, collaborate with and/or at least seek knowledge from reputable sources. You will not likely find the 'answer' (if there is one) here. You will find judgement and more judgement, and no validity. Uh-oh, gotta go, I have to meet a dope smoking b___stfeeder on the corner to purchase some black market Isomil for my poor lactose intolerant puppies. Their mother was euthanized by the local ASPCA. Damn, it's a conspiracy against orphaned puppies too!!! It's enough to make you wanna roll up a fattie and turn on some Willie Nelson.

ignorance!!! - August 12

wow people are really ignorant about weed! The government has gotten into so many heads! You all need to do research!Obviously the people that are so against it do not realize the people smoking are the once you least expect it!Stop being so judgmental! These are the people that raise the ignorant future society! Ignorance is the route to all evil! Do you ever stop and think about alcohol! Nobody ever questions the legal drugs! Do what you think is best for your children.

I agree with you, ignorance. But sadly, this is the state of the world. Most US citizens balk at a harmless bag of mary jane they see their neighbors with and are ready to call the 'Authorities'. Yet, inside this same do-gooder's home, you can find a plethora of pills and legal dope, the only difference is the dealer has an MD behind his/her name. MJ has been used for centuries in over 400 different cultures since antiquity to treat diseases and ailments ranging from the common cold to inebriating a patient for surgery to easing the pains of childbirth. Even our American 'forefathers' like George Washington and Ben Franklin grew the stuff in variying strains and in plentiful quant_ty. (I would have loved to be a slave working in those fields!! wowee!) You could even buy cannabis tonics and tinctures up until the mid 1920's, often touted for headaches and as an appet_te stimulant. All the bad press for MJ came from our own beloved government, and their feverent desire to squelch hemp production. Cultures worldwide use hemp to this day not to get high, but to survive. It's a cheap, easily maintained crop. It makes a cloth 20x softer and more hypoallergenic than cotton. Hemp rope is one of the strongest available. Other products include:construction materials, medicine, food, fuels, plastics and paper. That's not even scratching the surface. If it does so much, why have we not heard of it in the mainstream? Well, boys and girls, that's because many of the superpower governments frown upon anything that is so highly renewable and easily turned into a bunch of products that can be manufactured cheaper, and more earth friendly that challenges the power of the major oil, textile, and earth resource corporations. Basically, hemp is bad for big business. So, the rich guys teamed up with the government to give it a bad name. Sure, it's nice to smoke and get high, but buds are hardly the reason why cannabis sativa has such a bad reputation. It's all about money, and big business being threatened by it. I concur that there are countless OTC's and prescription drugs that pose more harm than MJ during b___stfeeding. What about a mom taking legal psychoactives like lithium, halcion, xanax

taxpayer #113-00-9912 - August 13

there have been no conclusive studies to note the effects on the baby from these commonly prescribed medicines. Yet, most moms will take them without blinking because "doctor said so", then 20 years down the line, how convenient, it is recalled and found to be harmful. Weed has never had a casuality die from it alone in it's several thousand years of use as a drug. But...the major drug companies have a track record, and they know how to cover up their poop like little cats, so unless you dig around, you will not be sold anything but lies. Wake up people.
