Too much caffeine can cause your baby to have an irregular heartbeat and make him/her jittery.

Moderation is the key. You can pretty much eat how you want. As far as caffine and alcohol, just don't do it constantly. Wat comes out in the b___stmilk is much less than what went into your mouth. Don't make yourself suffer! You should be eating healthy for yourself anyway. Unless there is an allergy problem, eat what you want. As far as feeling comfortable with b___stfeeding in public, I wasn't until about 6 months. Nursing became something I liked and wasn't such a drag sometime between 4 and 6 months. Just keep with it, you'll be glad you did. Making bottles and cleaning them is really a pain.

I heard that caffeine can also stunt growth...I spose I'm not doing my little girl any favors...but I seriously go into withdrawal if I cut out my caffeine. DH did convince me to switch to 1/2 caff coffee...and I've started drinking caffeine free sodas, like rootbeer...but I'm craving real coffee and a Dr. Pepper...lol
