I had a C-Section 3 1/2 weeks ago. The past few days I've felt intermittent sharp pain on the left side of the incision. About an hour ago I noted blood on my underpants and realized it was from the incision. It has opened slightly and is draining blood and serum. It looks a little red around the site. The opening is small now - maybe 3mm diameter. Since noting it, I applied anitbiotic ointment and sterile gauze, I've also noticed more pain there with touch and movement. Is this a sign of an infection? Will it heal on its own, or must I see a doctor?
