Hi, my name is charlene and i have 2 wonderful boys age 3 and half and 8 months. I have just found out in pregnant again and know that i will have to have a c section again as my first was 8lb 9 and half and got stuck. I then got pregnant again and they told me i would be fine to have a vbac after a 12 hour labour they decided i ws not gettin anywhere and i had another emergnacy c section (no wonder he was 9lb 10 and also got stuck). so ive just found out in pregnant again and its only been 8 months since the last one so im scared will they say try a vbac again or have a straight c section either way i would like some calming advice thanks for your time.

Hi! Your kids will be similarly spaced to mine. when I found out I was pregnant with my 3rd my older two were almost 4 1/2 (son) and 8 months (daughter). I had c-sections with both of them and had to have a c-section with my 3rd, also. Are you in the U.S.? If you are you I doubt they'll try to make you VBAC again after 2 c-sections... more likely they will want you to have another c-section. Anyway, my third c-section was the easiest recovery for me while I was in the hospital... when I came home it was ok, but I would forget to stay on top of my pain meds and that's not so good when you are trying to meet the demands of three young kids lol! So, I guess my biggest advice would be to make sure to take your meds. How were your first two recoveries? Oh wait... I just saw that they were both after long labors. My oldest was after a long labor and was by far the hardest to recover from. If you go for a scheduled c-section, hopefully it would be an easier recovery. My experience was that my scheduled c-sections were easier to recover from! Good luck with your new baby :-)

Hi i will be having my 3rd c-section in 8 wks.I have had 2 v____al births and with my third pregnancy the baby was to big so i had to have a c-section and my dr strongly beleives in repeat c-sections.I feel that my c-sections were over all prety good, and the thought of a utrine rupture scares me.It is easier on you to have a c-section before you go into labor and then have to have a c-section.If you want a vbac and your dr will allow that then do that. But if you would rather just have a repeat c-section then do that.It is mainly what you and your dr feels most comfortable with.Since i have already had to have two c-sections i would feel safer just having another c-section anyway,to avoid risk of utrine rupture.

hi thanks my first was a bad recovery i was very ill after and in for nearly 3 weeks so missed the important first weeks with my baby as could not tend to his needs so was abit worried bout my second. but because i had my second baby the day before my firsts 3rd b/day i made myself get out of bed and do stuff because i knew he was coming in to see me. i just didnt like all the pain as was in labour already so it was worse and i know that u cant feel the pain but but you can fell all the pulling and it felt like sumone was sitting on me and jumping (was under a load of med but kept shouting why is she jumping on me lol). and also keep getting the odd pain on my scar do any one else? think i would perfer a c section but maybe knocked out first????

I had scar pain, too, with my 2nd and 3rd. Besides my first c-section, I had a hernia operation when I was little and my doctor cut into the old scar when he did my 1st c-section, so that area hurt while I was pregnant after my first! Anyway, I just wanted to say that if you would decide to consider being under general anesthesia... that's how my 3rd baby was born! It wasn't planned that way, but when I went in my platelets were too low to safely do a spinal. Anyway, the drawbacks are that your dh or bf can't be in the OR with you and you miss the first few hours with your babies (but actually even when I was awake with my c-sections I missed that anyway). When I woke up I was in horrendous pain because they had no pain med IV going... BUT (!!!!) you can get that straightened out ahead of time. It's just that I didn't because I a__sumed that I would be on some sort of pain relief until I was able to take pain pills. I was glad to not have a VBAC. My oldest was 9 lbs. 5 oz. 21", my daughter was 8 lbs. 3 oz. 20 1/2" (she was taken 10 days early... she'd have probably been over 9 also if she'd been born on her due date or later!) and my youngest was 10 lbs. 6 oz. 22 3/4" (and his head circ_mference was 15)...um... I think there's no way I would have birthed THAT! LOL. So, I can sympathize about the big babies :-)

I doubt they will even give you the option of a VBAC after 2 sections and a failed VBAC. I think you should plan on having a scheduled c-section this time. I guess there is a chance you could try again, but only if the baby is smaller than 8 pounds. Good luck, I think you have given v____al birth a good try and at this point it is time to just say you have big babies and just can't do that size.

this may sound silly but could you feel anythink when you was knocked out? i have to have an iv in anyway as soon as anythink happens so ill make sure they have it in. not to worried about partner bein in there as baby will be taken to him as soon as out anyway and i guess it will be less nightmares for him to lol. and didnt get to see either of my sons straight away so as long as i cant fell any of the pulling ill do that cos thats the bit i didnt like. try another vbac is out of the question now but last time the docs made me try but think i will put my foot down this time as i cant get through labour again and then find out i have to go through yet another quick c section. thanks

mummy... No, I didn't feel anything when I was under... I wasn't even aware of time pa__sing or anything. All of the times that I have been under I wake up and think that no time has pa__sed and they must not have been able to make me fall asleep LOL. When I woke up I was still in the OR and they were turning me from one side to another, which I remember them doing after my other c-sections. I was awake for maybe 30 seconds and fell asleep again and woke up in the recovery room. So, anyway, no I didn't feel anything at all, had no thoughts, dreams or anything!
