i have got varicose veins of the vulva and at times they can be very painful. im now terrified of giving birth incase they rupture, do you think they would give me a c section?

You should ask your doctor about it. A c-section's not really an easy solution...it hurts a lot while you're recovering, and sometimes you get really swollen afterwards...which might make the varicose veins worse.

Hi. Varicose veins in your pelvic/genital area are exacerbated by the weight of your pregnancy and while I don't personally know what a v____al delivery would do I DO know that any pelvic, uterine surgery can and in my case did make my varicosities worse. Because the blood flow with a c-section is interrupted and in some cases, redirected due to the cutting, you may be making a condition worse. Discuss this with a vascular physician and your OB for mine are worse since my c-sections not better. Best wishes, the feeling of heaviness and throbbing pain of such "intimate" varicosities is no fun. But like Jbear said, c-sections are very painful too and I wouldn't choose surgery unless someone really needed it. Good luck with your upcoming delivery and your new baby!
