Hi everyone. I just got my results from my FNA biopsy, and sure enough - endometriosis was indicated in the ma__s cells. I just want to thank you all for sharing your experiences, because it really helped me in deciding what to do. I know my first message was VERY long (sorry about that), but I too just wanted to share my experience, in case others are going through the same thing. All I can say is that you know your body better than anyone else, so follow your insticts. Thanks again! And to those still in pain - I hope it gets better for you.

I'm 2 days post surgery now (I posted originally in March) My surgeon said my endometrioses was worse than he thought it would be and had to take a lot more than expected. So now I am in a lot more pain. But this pain is going to go away and stay away instead of coming back each month. My doctor also told me that the endometrioses had "tumor like tendeses" growing like a tumor but NOT a tumor. Girls be prepared...I was 5 years since my last c-section, if you have pain see your doctor sooner than later. Best of luck to all of you

Hello! I just had my 2nd c-section 2 weeks ago and have noticed that the left side is still very puffy and swollen while the right side appears very flat and normal looking. I also have shooting pains from time to time. Of course, mine is still very new, so I'm hoping the swelling will eventually go down and the pain will disappear. I have started bleeding again, though, which is begining to concern me.

I also have what you are describing. I have had six C-Sections and am pondering the next baby. I have a place of swelling on the left edge of my incision line. I was told after the second one it was a hernia. It has been there after every one.

I had a c-section in 1997, soon after the c-section I noticed a pain in my lower back, usually in the morning, right before getting out of bed. Usually before my period. Since then I had CT scan, MRI, ultrasound, laparoscopy, x-rays,..named it .. I had it...thousand of dollars later, I am suffering from the most horrible pain in my lower back, left and right side of my pelvis. The pain had become so strong and frecuent that is driving me crazy. I have seen several doctors, and even been depressed becasue nobody seems to know the cause of my pain. I have trouble slepping because my pelvis is so tender that when I lie down and put pressure on my left or right side , I can feel the bone. Sometimes I get up in the middle of the night because I can't endure the pain. anything that has codeine works but I try to stay away froom addictive medication. I am glad to have found this site..at least I know now that I am not the only one...I just received the results from my last MRI (the one with the die and evreything, $6,000) and nothing!...according to the test there is nothing....but the pain is with me almost 24/7.. I know is not just on my head!

I am so sorry for you all, I have had so many problems with c-section damage that I cringe and want to scream every time I hear someone say they WANT one, especially without any medical need. I have finally thrown in the towel and everything came out! I now do not have heavy horrible periods, no more agonizing cramps, no more embarra__sing blood clots and messes. I take a little blue Estrogen pill every morning and for the first time since my last c I feel good again. Hopefully I don't get scar tissue and adhesions back from the hysterectomy too....Good luck everyone and to the one poster, yes, if we come out and let the Medical a__sociations know what REALLY happens after and because of c-sections they might change their minds about doing them for no reason.

My cesareans aren't as recent as others here, but I'm having similar problems. I've had 2 cesarean births. My youngest was born 12 years ago. About 5 years ago I started having a burning sensation around the end of the left side of my scar that would begin around the last day of my period and would last until mid-month and then stop. Now, it just seems that I have pain there all the time now. My doctor did a lapryscopic surgery and saw nothing. He checked my ovaries and uterus and saw a fibroid on the outside of my uterus, but that's all. He put me on norethindrone, but the pain has only gotten worse. It hurts to cough, sit up, sneeze. I feel the need to hold my side when I do. Anyone else out there with these symptoms so late after pregnancy?

I was sooooo happy to find this website. I too have been through the same as you all. I so love the fact that you all prove that I am not being psychosomatic as my husband once put it. When no one could pinpoint my problem, it was thought that I was seeking some much needed attention. Yeah, right!!!! ...I have my 2nd c-section 3 1/2 years ago. I have been suffering with these symptoms for nearly 3 years. It started off mild with just a little knot in my left side underneath my c-section scar and it has turned into a monthly, 2 wk long, gut-wrenching pain that won't give. It is a cycle after my period it hurts really bad for 2 wks and then subsides. And it has gotten worse with the pain. A year ago I went to the Gyn for my yearly and was basically told that it could be scar tissue. She sent me for a ultrasound and they still couldn't figure it out so she stated that they would remove it SINCE it was bothering me. That was not good enough for me. I did not want them to cut me and not know what they are looking for. I waited another year (which it got worse) and decided to have the surgery because it was hurting so bad and just wanted it fixed. Once I went to see the surgeon, I was still not comfortable with the "exploratory" surgery. I decided to wait and go back to the original dr that did my 1st c-section. The reason I didn't go back to him in the 1st place was because we live in a different state. My dr for the 2nd c-section is incompotent and my current Gyn lost her license as a Obstetrician. I was not feeling these "professional". I felt that I need to deal with doctors with experience and knowledge on the matter. I have an appointment with this dr at the end of the month. Hopefully he can tell me something new and take care of the problem. I do believe it's endometriosis especially after reading some of your entries. I just want to know what it is and get it fixed in a hurry so that I can go on with my life. I will keep you posted as I too hope that my entry will help others. God Bless. Jen

I have been watching this site for over 6 months now and in the meantime have been experiencing my own pain and frustration with Doctors and the medical system in general. I am in Australia and would love to hear from anyone who can reccommend a good DR. in Perth, Melbourne or Adelaide. I had a C section in 2004 and have never been well since. I was hospitalised early in the pregnancy and sectioned at around 36 weeks due to severe pre-eclampsia. After the C-section I was in incredible pain and complained to the nursing staff that my upper right abdomen was more painful than anywhere else. This was met with a blank stare by all! After many trips to the GP and lots of complaining about pain it was discovered I had an umbiliacle hernia which was operated on 10 months after my C-section. However to this day I still have very bad pains in this area when ever I lift push or pull anything that is over 10kg - this includes my daughter. This area is also still very swollen and on many days I look like I am still about 6 months pregnant. I also find it difficult to sit/lie on the floor and just day to day activities leave me exhausted and in pain. In the last 12 months I have also developed pain a__sociated with my cycle (often after my period). This begins with very severe pain low down near my C-section scar but radiates all through the abdomen area. After about 4 days of complete "knock me out can't do anything but lie in bed pain" (Thank goodness for childcare and a supportive husband) the pain then becomes more like the feeling of being completely bruised throughout, at this stage I am able to walk around a little but still feel in a lot of pain and struggle to look after my 2 year old. A few more days of recuperation and I am able to get back to my life but there is always some pain there and I find even on my good days I still need some type of pain killer to get me through. Rolling over in my sleep is enough to wake me up crying with pain. This severe pain cycle however does not always occur with every period. Each period is painful to quite painful but the very extreme pain will come only every few months or so. I am booked in for a laproscope (with suspected possible endometriosis) in the next few months so I will let you know what they find. I have also had CAT/MRI and Ultrasounds which found nothing. I never so much as had a doctor before I got pregnant but now I seem to live on appointments and painkillers - it is no way to live. Good luck to you all, and please do not let anyone tell you it is in your head, you know your own body better than anyone else and when you need strength come to this website to affirm the fact that unfortunately it is happening to many other women too! Good luck and please keep posting all your symptoms and results as we all need to share as much information as possible because it is NOT being given feely by the medical profession.

Diane, Wow it sounds like life is miserable for you. Your case sounds 1000 percent worse than my incisional endo and I couldn't imagine anything more painful. First, no doctor should want to get rid of you. Maybe you can try another city with a bigger hospital? I don't know where you are at but it is an option. I am telling everyone that we shoud all write to Oprah, this is such a huge thing that she always likes to reveal stuff like this. Good luck and keep us updated.

I just wanted to let everyone know that 2 months after surgery for incisional endo that I am feeling great. No more pain for 10 to 14 days after my period. Please girls don' t let your doc's give you the run around. If the pain is cyclic tell them you want either a CT scan to verify its endo or surgery. I opted for surgery first since the wait for a CT scan was going to mean another month of pain. Totally worth it. Only down side was about 10 days post op of slow walking and draining but not more pain is worth that anyday. Good Luck Ladies!

Hi girls, Nikki again. Apparently the site has created a new must register process since the last time I visited, and someone took my name!! Anywho, am now having a period every 2 weeks, even tho' I have an IUD (which I LOVE btw...), and the pain is really bad again for about 2 days of my heaviest 'flow'. Forget holding my bladder, if I do, after I go the pain is excruciating. The doc went back to this adenomysis thing and I'm still curious if anyone has been diagnosed with this or knows anything about it. Unlike a lot of you, I don't have any lumps or bumps, so I wonder if we have the same thing....As for me, adhesions were removed larascopy, thought that would end it - IT DIDN'T, endo was ruled out (which I had years ago, and there is NO comparision between what I'm feeling now). So now Doc#2 has gone back to his adenomyosis, which is basically only 'cured' by hysterectomy, a choice I'm just not ready to make. I'm going for the 100th ultrasound next month. Why we keep doing US and not an MRI....I wonder if some stupid insurance HMO bull$hit. I guess I will just have to insist. If you know anything about this adenomyosis, please clue me in. All I've found is that it is basically like edno in the tissue of your uterus. Call me stupid, but isn't that what the uterus IS? Endometrial tissue, right? Confused here.......AND, if it IS adenomyosis, how in the world would that effect my bladder???? Any advice welcome. So glad but sad most of us are still here. Peace- Nikki

Hello everyone! It has been awhile since I have posted but I have been keeping myself updated with the message board. I had incisional endo removed back in Febuary and am now having the same symptoms starting again. The burning in my hip and the lump in my scar line is back. I am scared to call the doctor again because I dont want to have anymore surgery or poking and proding. Has anyone who had the endo removed gotten their symptoms back? Until last month I have been great, last month I put off to a bad month and now with this cycle it has gotten worse. I am so frustrated, I have 3 kids (2,3 & 6 yrs.) and cant afford to not be able to care for them, and cant afford not to work. Has anyone found any pain relievers that actually work? Ughhh!!! Why is it that the women always get the short end of the stick? I am lucky because my other half is pretty supportive but I dont think he actually gets how much pain I am really in. Well, thanks for listening to me vent and if anyone has anymore info it would be appreiciated!!! bye for now , Robin

Ladies, If it wasn't for this site I would still be in pain today - I wrote to Oprah today. I think she would be great at getting the word out about the pain so many of us are having and have been through. I am crying reading the pain some of you are still in. Hang in there...there is help out there you just need to hunt it down.
