Im 180 lbs, 5'4. I would consider myself overweight....I lost 10 lbs prior to becoming pregnant. I am now 10w4d and I feel fine. (cross fingers) I took a glucose test and I got some abnormal results so now they want me to come in and do the 3 hr glucose test again........w/ this one they would be able to diagnosed me if I have normal glucose or if I have gestational diabetes. I am scared as hell....Im doin alot of reading n stuff. Best of luck to everyone!

My doctor told me that I need to lose 30-40 lbs before I have a baby. I am 270lbs 5'7ft tall. I carry my weight pretty good and i am young. So I guess it would depend on the person.

I now weigh 245 - I have stopped ovulating and my AF cycle is so irregular. Doctor has said it's probably because I am overweight. I joined a slimming club and lost 14pounds in a week, then unbelievably I took a period. So I am going to try and lose some more weight and then keep ttc. If you walk more it can only be good for you and the baby - no one says you have to go and do a 10 mile run, a nice 15-20 min walk each day is enough - and try and eat sensibly. I need to take my own advice lol. Good luck ladies!!!

I am about 185 and 13 wks pregnant. I want to lose some weight while pregnant. Is it ok to do that and how do I do it as I eat a lot of junk food and have no will power.

Hi ladies... I am plus size and 10 wks. pregnant. I have been looking online at maternity clothes and I have some friends that have been plus size and pregnant. The best place we have found is lanebryant.com. they now have a plus size maternity section online. I hope this helps some of you. good luck ladies. Remember to keep active. Walking really helps.

To all those wanting to lose weight while pregnant: You are not supposed to diet and actively try to lose weight while pregnant. Eat healthy, exercise, and monitor your weight gain that is destined to happen. Because of nausea or m/s some women lose weight naturally in the 1st trimester not even wanting to. Save losing weight for after your baby comes.

I am 24 and in the past few years I went from 250 lbs to 178 lbs by diet and exercise. We started ttc a month ago and were successful the first time which shocked me in a good way! I am SO happy I lost the weight before I became pregnant and I plan on gaining no more than 30 lbs for the whole pregnancy so that means I have to start walking and watching my diet more carefully. I have already gained 10 lbs back and I am only 6w 2d pregnant. But I think it's mostly from bloating. Good luck mommies to be!!!

I am currently 322 lbs and 20 weeks pregnant. I have been overweight my entire life. It is difficult finding clothes that fit right now, though being comfortable is an even bigger issue. This pregnancy has been a very bumpy road, and I have only gained 2 lbs, so I am extremly impressed with myself. My doctors are looking for me to only gain 10-15 lbs, which I think is very possible. For me, I can't eat huge portions though I am eating every few hours. Fruit is my craving, so that is a plus! Yogurt & Granola for breakfast!! :) Take care of yourself, relax, rest, and make sure you love your baby!! The weight can always come off after the baby is born!

Hi ladies... I am currently a little over 11 wks. pregnant and I am plus size. However, i was wondering when I will be able to feel something. I didnt know if i am not feeling anything because I am plus size. Also, when do you start to show?

tamoretta - April 2

11 weeks is too early to start feeling anything. Usually 16 weeks is the earliest I have ever really heard of a woman feeling the baby move. Wait another month then you wont get enough!

Tawanna - April 5

I am 290 pounds can I get pregant?

Tammy - April 22

Tawanna, I think that it is possible for anyone to be pregnant. I am 285 and I have been struggling with my weight for some time. I have always been overweight. I have been working out for the past month trying to stay in shape . I have high hopes to concieve soon.
