Hi! Just curious how many of you are or have experienced Braxton Hicks contractions and how far along are you? I am 22 weeks and got them really bad last night. My stomach was so hard and tight and it lasted for quite awhile. Then it finally relaxed but I didn't feel right all evening. Is this something I should be concerned about? Isn't it early? Will I keep getting them from now on?

braxton hicks are good, susposedely they feel worse during a 1st pregnancy, I used to get them really bad with my other pregnancies but its your uterus preparing itself, they say it shouldn't be painful just uncomfortable, I found them to be v.slightly painful, no matter what its always better to be safe than sorry, if you don't feel right get it checked out, you know your body better than anyone!! Good luck :)

I started having them around 20 weeks. Mine are painless and only last about 15-30 seconds. I have them a few times a day. I just feel my uterus ball up and get hard. It is a little weird feeling, but my dr, says that as long as there is no bleeding and not 4 times an hour or more, that it is normal. Sometimes dehydration can cause it to occur. Not all women feel them or know that is what it is. Some just think it is the baby balling up in one spot. I did not know about them until I was in a car accident a month ago and was on a fetal monitor and the nurse told me that was what was going on. They are supposed to get more painful as the pregnancy progresses though.
