Cramping Everyday For A While Now

I just found out i'm 5 weeks pregnant, and I knew something was up because of the cramping at first I thought it was time for the period and then it didn't come but i've been having these pains for about 2 or 3 weeks now. Is it normal this early on? I even told the Ob but she didn't make my date to be seen till jan 23rd, should I look for a new one?

When i was in my first trimester I cramped soooo bad.. it hurt like worse then any period.. plus I had the worst backpain ever! Your OB is right she really doesnt need to see you until you are 12 weeks and you are lucky if you are getting in before 12 weeks.. unless you are bleeding really bad I wouldnt worry to much about it! just know its normal!

Cramping is fairly normal early on, as is spotting. Heavy bleeding would be something I would definitely call the doc for if you experience it however. 12 weeks or so is about the standard for a first appointment. I had my first appointment at 8 weeks, but it was only to register with the OB department and fill out a bunch of paperwork. They didn't do anything "medical" like try to find a heartbeat or do an U/S. Congrats and good luck!
