Hi I'm 30 weeks and this morning I've been having sharp pains in my stomache and back that last a few seconds and then goes away. I laid down for a while & now it seems better. Does anyone know if this is braxton hicks or just gas?

It doesn't sound like BH. Braxton Hicks are usually painless until you get really close to your due date. They are however uncomfortable. I'm 27 weeks and I get them occasionally. My uterus just hardens up for like 20 seconds and then it goes away. It kinda feels like the baby is going into a big hard ball but when you feel around you can tell its not the baby because the rest of your belly is hard. I hope this helps. Good luck!

Sometimes I feel like if a balloon was been inflated in my belly and i touch it and it feels hard, it only lasts for a few seconds. I thought this was the baby stretching or something because it is in the same spot where he always kicks, a couple inches below my navel. So is this braxton hicks??

the best way to tell is the next time you get one, feel you stomach and if it is hard to the touch, it is a real contraction. if not its just BH your bodys way of preparing you for the real thing. they say lie on your left side and drink a couple gla__ses of water and it should go away.
