Hi, About 3 days before my period was due and 12 days after ovulating I had what I think was implantation bleeding. It was a brownish discharge at first and then slight brownish spotting for about an hour when I wiped. I had slight cramping as well. Now a day before my period date I went to get a blood test done and it came back as positive. I was so excited that! However the day after my period was due I ended up getting my period!!! It is now the 2nd day of bleeding! I am so heavy and cramping. My periods are usually heavy and can last up to 10 days. I dont know why I am having a hard time conceiving. I already have 1 daughter who is 2 years and it was very easy for my husband and I do get pregnant with her. Now did I miscarry at this point and should I go to the doctor and get it checked? Could I still be pregnant even though I am having my period?

It is possible that you are still pregnant, although not likely. Many women suffer heartache when this happens. It is never a good idea to test before your period is due. Many times the genetic material for the fetus is no good and the embryo gets flushed out during your normal menstrual cycle. It's mother natures way of preventing suffering. When they count the pregnancies that don't make it to or past the date of expected menstrual cycle, they find that the miscarriage rate is about 1/3. This is a very high number. Once you get to a few days past your expected period (which is when most women test) this number drops to 20%-25%, which is still quite high. The new pregnancy tests that detect pregnancy before the expected period are just a sentence for heartache...
