Feeling Baby Move As Early As 10 Weeks

Nanilli and anyone else - the average baby at 10 weeks gestation is about an inch and a half long and weighs FAR less than a paperclip. I find it VERY hard to believe that at that size, padded w/ amniotic fluid, the uterus, and your stomach fat, that you could feel movement. I was VERY skinny when I got pregnant and didn't feel any definate movement til 16 weeks or so. Gas bubbles and the first movements feel very similar, so that's probably what it is.

here....this is something i just copied and pasted from a pregnancy website: When will I feel my baby's first movements? Feeling those first, tiny sensations inside are a key landmark of your pregnancy. And when those movements become vigorous kicks, you know everything is going well. If this is your first pregnancy, you may not even notice your baby moving around immediately because you won't be familiar with the sensation -- which many women describe as a gentle fluttering motion. For a first pregnancy you will probably be aware of something at around 18 to 20 weeks. For subsequent pregnancies, when you know the tell-tale signs, first movements can be felt earlier. = Name: g_girl | Date: February 5, 2007, 12:47 Answer: oooh look...i just found more on the same page...let's read on shall we? What is my baby doing in there? After the initial vague stirrings, which some women describe as similar to the flapping of b___terfly wings, your baby's movements become stronger and more regular. As your baby grows, these sensations change so that you start to feel thumping or kicking movements which become stronger as your pregnancy progresses. =

Iam sure glad to know people who say you cant feel it move that early is god. any medical book can tell you what is suppose to happen doesnt mean that goes for every one. my first pregnancy I didnt feel her untill I have 17 weeks, but Iam pregnant now with my second and felt it move at 10 weeks. yeah it may only be so big, but what about gas bubbles does it tell you in a medical book how big their are suppose to be before you feel them, no it doesnt. Iam glad this post is still up there are women out there that still want answers from everyone no matter if it is 4 years old or older. you can probaly go to your doctor and ask them is it normal to feel movements that early and he is going to tell you know, why because that is what a medical book tells him. key word is it normal. is it normal for a baby to be the same size as most babies to be at birth but grow up to be 7 feet tall, the doctor probaly couldnt tell you oh by the way your kid is going to be over 7 feet tall. Doctors dont know everything, but what they have learned and studied from a group of people, but not every human. So people need to be open minded and not quick to judge others and tell them no you baby only weighs this much, well how much does a gas bubble weigh, but you still feel thoses.

good example with the fish, she is right, that fish might be small but if you place you hands around the bowl you are bound to feel that fish swim. that is what it kinda feels like something swimming. I do know the differince between gas have been dealing with it my whole life. I think women who are in to the second or so on is more in tune with their bodies. But that doesnt mean it cant be done with you first, I remember when I was pregnant with my daughter I felt her move about 16 weeks, but probaly felt it before but thought it was something else and not that. Ask yourself this how do some women know there are pregnant only days after it was made, no medical book tells you this is possible, it is called being in tune with your body. Great example with the fish I fully agree :) and dont worry if you dont feel it at 10 weeks, like I said if it is your first dont worry I didnt feel mine untill 16 weeks. but now I can with my second.

I didnt' even feel the ga__sy feeling that everyone describes feeling. My first feelings were of actual kicks at 20 weeks. I would put my hand on my stomach and feel him kick. I am 38 weeks now

That is another great example, some women get sick bad and others not at all, me Iam sick every min for the past 7 weeks. tired cant do any thing and as I get futher along Iam getting worse.

they do US at around 10 weeks as dating US because soon AFTER that babies start to grow at slightly different rates. Head circ_mfrence measurements are used to date the feotus.

Thank You mitzm2003. That is my point exactly, It's called being in tune with your body....& what would a man know about being PG or a woman who has never!! The majority of people who write these books are them, a very low amount are those that it didnt happen to they didnt experience it.........Just remember all body's are different and our babies grow at different rates, some may feel it, some may not so soon. For all those that are blessed with being able to get PG, Just enjoy every moment!!!!

What goes on at 10 weeks?

danaemerich - May 5

Yes, you can feel it because when your 10 weeks, the baby is very low below the belly b___ton so if it was gas you would know. Obviosouly you don't feel kicks, just fluttery movements.. But if you feel it up high then it must be gas..

I have a tilted uterus and felt my first at 13 weeks, my second at 12 weeks, and this time I've felt two or three flutters inside at 10 weeks. I've been told many times by my midwives and consultants that having the different shaped uterus can make a difference. It is just like something bumping you from inside, just once. Definitely not gas!

At 10 weeks, the baby is only about 3 cm long and just developed its arms and legs. They're not big enough to kick so that you'd feel it.

When i was 11 weeks pregnant with my son i had an ultrasound and i had been feeling a rolling/ b___terfly sensation for about a week and a half on and off and id just finished telling my doc about it and he had the screen facing him (he hadn't showed me yet so i couldn't see the screen) and i felt it again and told him, well he was surprised! because when i said that my son actually did a half little roll thing and he said that because i was such a low weight myself it was feasible that i felt it (i only weighed 45 kgs at the time) so it is possible.
