Hey ridiculous - August 25

Where's your brain? This thread is obviously more than 4 months old. Unless Crystal is 11 months pregnant.......I don't think she needs your help anymore. Lay off the weed lady.

What a sweetheart, you should come over, where do you live? Sounds like you honestly care about babies. Really, I hope your life turns out great, thanks. Good luck. You seem to have a lot working against you. Sorry. It's"because people like me" that we "have to live" WHAT way exactly? And no babe, the fact that we live in America doesn't give us the right to smoke weed when we're pregnant; it means we have the right to CHOOSE, from our own individual perspective on this earth WITHOUT others from a completely different world telling US what's RIGHT for OUR LIVES. What makes you think everybody should be like YOU? And why would I feel guilty about doing something that ISN"T wrong? Marijuana is a part of my cultural background. Go ahead and BAH about that one. I DON'T smoke weed everyday because I don't have the time, and no, there is NO "withdrawal". Not all weed smokers smoke it constantly. To us, it's not what it is to you, so we are not partaking in EVIL, SELFISH acts against our unborn child. I KNOW my baby is fine. GUILT is SELFISH. Wrap your mind around that , fascist.

kelley again - August 25

Hey, you know what, how you want to live your life is fine. And I was raised to believe that these are not our bodies to distroy if we feel the need. And a baby in our body is not our body, it's a completely different human being who doesn't have a choice. We make all of the choices for our unborn children. Forcing your child to smoke with you is like me forcing you to do something with me that you don't want to do. I just don't think it's right for me or anyone to do it and that my opinion. That doesn't make me a facist...just because I don't feel the way you do. And if you still think I am a facist, then you're just as bad as me. So if that's what you all want to do with your lives...cool, have fun. I'll just stick with what I'm doing. It seems to be working fine for my kids.

LOVING - August 26

Hi Kelley. yes you are ent_tled to your opinion but that post wasn't to you. It was a response to post 8/24 @ 19:16 So no one was calling you a facists--directly. I for one agree with your last few statements of your last post.

good study - August 30

I find the tone of this conversation to be so nasty and judgmental. This is a very difficult question that has a lot of conflicting answers. Something we need to think about is that all women who smoke mj during pregnancy aren't being "selfish" -- they may be smoking for medicinal effects. The bottom line is that there are NO, and I mean, NO studies that are conclusive about very low levels of marijuana use damaging babies. And what we do know is that so-called medically approved anti-nausea drugs that were once given to pregnant women, like thalidime, have caused severe birth defects. So I'd be more likely to use mj than some new anti-nausea drug they use for chemo patients, if I really needed help with the sickness. The problem with our society is that we partake in things to the extreme. Obviously the best thing is to limit the intake of anything strong -- be it caffiene, or alcohol, or anything else. A growing baby is much more fragile than we are. Anyway, for the best study I've seen around, check out http://books.nap.edu/html/marimed/ It's got a section on studies done of Jamaican women, who don't live in as much fear of admitting mj use as we do here in the states. It's a study by the national academy of sciences.

:( :( - November 1

When I was seventeen, I got pregnant, and didn't really believe I was since I wasn't even a month or two along yet. I guess I was in denial. I started hanging around a different girl just a couple of times, and smoked weed with her on the way to school a couple of times. I didn't smoke it anymore, and never drank. But I did smoke cigs. The professionals told me that the outcome didn't have anything to do with smoking cigs. I'm not sure if smoking the weed has anything to do with it, but my first child has autism.

My God. Lady get some help and quit harming your baby.

me - November 11

We're not harmimg our babies, thanks. You women who feel terrible or guilty when you smoke, DON'T SMOKE.

!!! - November 11

I smoked weed twice in my first month or two of pregnancy because I was stupid, and didn't know I was pregnant. My seven year old has autism. It is not good. She runs away, so we can't live in a populated neighborhood, for her own protection. She is very hyper, can't read, or write, won't focus on anything that she's not interested in. She has behavioral problems, and isn't socially active, or doesn't communicate with others well, which is one reason that she has behavioral problems, because she doesn't understand as well. She is on a three year old level. She isn't potty-trained. She's very loving and sweet compared to other kids like this, but she doesn't even care if you hug her or kiss her. We didn't know what was going on with her because dr.'s couldn't tell us until she was almost five. We've gone through hell and back trying to find help for her, and dealing for her and our sake.Like I said, I only smoked weed twice in the pregnancy, and just got buzzed, not totally high. So don't chance it. If you must, get new friends, or just don't hang around the one's who smoke as often.

Did your daughter get any vaccinations with mercury or do you eat a lot of fish? I highly doubt that the marijuana you smoked twice in your pregnancy caused your daughter's problems.

BABY OF A POTHEAD - November 11

I would like to tell you honestly, my mom smoked weed throughout here entire pregnancy with me. As a baby I had low birthweight, breating problems and developmental delays. As a child I had develpmental delays, chronic bronchitis, and memory problems. As an adult (who has never even tried weed) I always forget things, still have breathing problems, and I am 4'11. So because my mom didn't smoke or drink anything else when she was pregnant for me, I'm pretty sure it's from weed. Oh and FYI, I have an 11 year old sister who my mom did no drugs when she was pregnant with, and she is way healthier than me and is already just 2 inches below me in height. WEED IS BAD PEOPLE.
